There's Limewire and WinMX...although from what i'm told Limewire is the better site of the two.
We use Etomi.
limewire.com
I use WinMx. I like it although people here seem to generally pan it. There is also some software called Peer Guardian that is cool. Basically it works liek this: Your computer has an IP address attached to it (all computers do) so this Peer Guardian software loads hundreds of thousands of IP address onto your system. That way if the FBI or RIAA is looking your PC they will see like 300 thousand different IP address including yours.
Kazza and Kazza Lite seem to have lots and lots of Spyware and I was getting bad copies of songs (incomplete, etc).
Try WinMx and look up Peer Guardian on google.
Cheers
I use soulseek. It's easy and free!
Soulseek's really cool if you're looking for obscure dance or house tracks - the ones which can usually only be found on vinyl. But as an overall thing I like Bearshare Lite - no spyware thingies and easy to use.
Shareaza...it searches 3 networks!!!
WOW!Thanks for the sites everyone!Has anyone tried imesh yet? I was using it for the past year but I can't search anymore on there for some wierd reason.

128 is the lowest that sounds decent. i don't play anything at work under 192. 320 is the best, but the files are 2 or 3 times as big.;D
ahhh.
cool :) thanks
ohhh
hey if i can DL off other peeps and they can DL off my comp..... does that mean my broadband usage will skyrocket and ill be charged a shite load???!?!?!?!
Hi Mermaid,
It depends on whehter your broadband provider charges for uploads as well. We used to be on Telstra here in Sydney and they charged us for other people uploading from our computer. So I switched to another provider and my usage dropped by half.
ah thanks for that ashara...ill check with my provider on that then :)
I like Bearshare with Peer Guardian running...;)
Well, not quite. PeerGuardian loads IP addresses onto your computer to block incoming scans from those IP addresses, which are ones known to be used by the movie and record industries in their search for copyright infringed files on your computer. It's a specialized firewall, blocking certain incoming signals from listed sources because they're suspect. Of course, it's not completely foolproof because those IP addresses may change faster than the program is updated, and it has been known to block some false positives. There may be value in running it, but don't think it's failsafe. You're still running some risk.Quote:

Not into the P2P scene myself, btw, but no fan of the control jihadists at the RI- and MP- AA either.
