Hi everyone! I am new and was just wondering what types of workout anyone does to stay in shape. I am not able to get to a gym very often, so anything that you do at home would be helpful. Thanks! 8)

Well since I am new, just had my audition tonight, I don't know if there are any specific exercises you could do just for this, but I would think lunges and and work with some weights for the legs would help. I mainly just do stretches and crunches and a few pushups here and there. Running or jogging is another thing that you could try.
Yoga, Pilates, and simple exercises with a balance ball. That's when I can't hit the gym...otherwise, I do all of my workouts at the gym.
Jump Rope. You should invest in the vinyl ones, they have more weight and don't get tangled easily. Keep proper form, don't slouch or stick your lower back out foward. Do at least 300 everyday and you will see a change. (300 is not that much an average person can bang out 100 in a minute) Up your amount every week. Good Luck.
At the very least, (after warming up!) 30 minutes of strength/interval type training with weights - basic lunges in all their variances, rows, crunches, pushups. You'll get a lot from combination exercises, for example a stationary lunge and shoulder raise or squat and bicep curl. Do a set, move on to the next exercise, and keep rotating through the sets. *voila*
I workout every day, with maybe one day of rest (since it's not heavy weight training, you know...we're talking free weights. I use 8 to 10 pounds right now and I won't go any higher. To start, I'd recommend 3-5 pound weights...just feel it out.) And then some kind of cardio - whatever turns ya on:) I like the higher impact stuff - 'cause it makes me sweat. :) And I work out at home all the time. When it's warmer I go the track.
Good luck!
