Re: dealing with management
The best club I have ever worked in, the manager was a meth-head. Every night I went into work, I wondered whether I was going to finally bust his jaw for being a complete asshole, and lose my job. He would sit in his office for hours, then suddenly spring forth, foaming at the mouth like a rabid weasel, running around like a maniac and screaming at everyone. We quickly learned never to bring any problems of any kind to his attention, because whoever did so would get screamed at. The place ran the best when he stayed in his office!
He's dead now, after having been in a wheelchair for a while because of a meth-induced stroke.
Every club I have worked in, the managers were assholes, with very rare exceptions.
Re: dealing with management
Yahh, if you want to stay there, you have to just deal with it.
Either "kiss ass", which it doesn't sound like you want to do, or stay away from him, and remember why you are there.
I hate managment at the club I work, it was difficult at first, but now I am used to them being difficult!!
Now when I go to a club where the managment is lax, I am like 'what is going on here, how come no one is on my ass!' That's just me, I am driven on chaos!}:D
Re: dealing with management
Just know this...
In all the four corners of the land, most SC club managers average about 4-600 a week before taxes. Most doorguys take home more after tip out.
He is there for the pussy or the power trip attention, bottom line.
Even the guys who are managers and disagree,I would point to thier resume as proof they are there for the reasons i stated.
Sorry to toss ya under the bus like that guys, but entertainers come first, they butter my bread and generally look and smell better.
A SC manager will always be the person who is working you, while working FOR you.
Just get along because they dont last long.Thier average lifespan is 6 months less then the average dancer.
If you work at the same club for 3-4 years, chances are,you will see 2.5 managers.
They always have new "ideas" and "plans"on improvment.
Just humor them till they go away. And they will, they always do.
Re: dealing with management
See now I feel lucky. Our management is GREAT. We have two acting managers at the moment and I really like both. They're both fair, don't play favorites and in general are willing to work with the girls on pretty much anything. From what i've seen/heard our club is the exception to the rule. The girls all get along very well too... Go figure!
Re: dealing with management
I feel lucky too-my manager kicks ass. The manager at the club I work at is female, which is rare in this business. She is very professional yet friendly at the same time, and she treats everyone fairly. Not that this is relevant, but she's also gorgeous-better looking than most of the dancers, in fact. I like having a female manager because they are less likely to try to get a piece of ass from the dancers, LOL.
Re: dealing with management
I think my management staff would be great if they would get their heads outta their asses.
