I'm curious about this tiny little nudie bar that my husband and I checked out last spring when we were in the city; wondering if anyone here is working/has worked there and what the setup was like; schedules, house fees, auditions, etc.

This was the club I where I started. My information is old (like 3 years old) so I'm not sure I can be of help. When I was there, it was spread coochie on stage, serious grindage. Guys can't touch on the floor; they can in the booths but they're not supposed to touch anything but legs and butt. Notice I said *supposed*. The house fee was $100 for the 8PM to 4PM shift excluding tipouts to DJ, housemom, and bouncers. Management was very, very cool, and professional, but the facilities were lacking. The dressing room is the size of a postage stamp and the toilet breaks down constantly. If you use the one in the empty upstairs they keep to maintain the 60/40 zoning requirement, expect some five foot mobster to leap out and scream at you. VIP - a closet with shutters, really - was $100 to you for 5 songs/30 minutes, excluding your tip to the waitress, who also functions as the VIP host (10% tip is customary).
Like I said, things may, and probably have, changed.
Hmm. I'm thinking of trying to work in NYC at the beginning of June since I'll be heading out there anyway; I'm not PEC material, so I'm looking around for a club where I have a good liklihood of being hired and working a week or so. $100 house doesn't sound too bad if there's no separate dance cut for anything other than VIPs. We had a fun time at this club when we were there, and they had a, um, variety of types working, so I thought it might be worth checking out. Other suggestions welcome (pics on website).
Stilletos is cool to work at if your OK with getting a dollar tip in return for showing your whole coochie. You can earn money there but the place is definitely tiny. Good thing is its in a v good area in Manhattan.
Susan, you might also want to try The Hustler Club, and VIP (a gown club). Rick's is also supposed to be opening soon. Summer is slow in Manhattan, though June isn't quite as bad as July and August. Wherever you go, I'd lie and say that you moved to Manhattan. Don't tell them you're just in town and want to work for a week - they're likely to be reluctant to put you on the schedule.
If you're able to travel upstate, check out Stillettos/Lace in the Nyacks, clubs of the same chain, they are nice, especially Lace.Lower house fees, great management and very nice girls.
Hope this helps.
same goes for Stiletto in Carlstadt NJ (behind the Meadowlands) and Lace in Wayne, NJ - both are within 10-15 miles of Manhattan - both are nice especially Lace. Both have lower house fees and a lot less dressing room drama.
I'm afraid that you're likely to find that any of the Manhattan clubs who are willing to hire dancers who are not PEC calibre (as you tactfully stated) are going to have some 'reason' that dancers really don't want to work there ... however since these girls have few other opportunities in Manhattan clubs, the clubowners can typically get away with murder and the dancers will put up with the bullS#it.
VIP cleaned house after one of their dancers was arrested for prostitution. It's a fine club. Of course, they will have to close if a stay isn't granted, as will Stiletto.
