Segue: Art is not for Losers

Yeah, guys marry chemistry majors, but they get lap dances from liberal arts majors.
I don't get it....Why does majoring in a Liberal Arts education make you not intelligent? Parsons School of Design is a liberal arts school of sorts that is one of the best in the world. It's produced some of the most known names in art industries from the creators of Versace to Executive producers for Fox.
I'm majoring in Comunication Design which is a very rigorous choice of study, and I'm an accomplished artist as well. I don't really think it's fair to discredit all liberal arts majors as stupid. (Then again, life's not fair i guess/:O)
I do know that those who put down art careers usually can't create a piece that's visually pleasing to the eye if their lives depended on it. Art is part of everything, someone had to design the way this website looks. Someone had to design the chair you're sitting in...
Okay....stepping off my soapbox now....:)

.
My ex went to Parsons for graphic design, he is very talented! I think the liberal arts jab is a joke because that degree tends to lack employability. It never gave me any problems getting a great job though (not stripping!)

When we're talking about a "liberal arts major", we don't mean a major in a liberal arts field of study like design or history or communication studies (which is my major), etc. Most major state run universities have an actual liberal arts major which is kind of a catch-all for people who don't have a specific field that they're interested in. It's stereotyped as the "easy" major, you know, the typical "underwater basketweaving" kind of courses. It's what a lot of student athletes wind up majoring in.
