Ladies, are you in debt?
yes....mortgage and auto loan
i owe 2k on credit cards,my car is paid for etc.
Never owned a credit, have no license so I don't drive. I owe very little on school, I have furniture, strereo, comp, and the like all paid for in cold hard cash!
Oh, and a boyfriend came for free.
and if you are in debt its your own fault.
Naturally, but debt isn't a dirty word....there is "good" debt. Credit cards are not good debt. Mortgages and student loans are because it allows you to buy something you couldn't normally afford, which will be an investment in yourself later on.Quote:

no. i manage my money well, and i don't have a credit card.
I was in $8,000 of debt, due to previous unemployment. But now after 4 months of dancing I am only $4 K in debt, and I am paying it off quickly. :)
I owe a bunch on credit cards that I used to pay for school when my scholarships ran out. I payed for an apartment, tuition, book, food, etc with the cc. Yes, it was my fault, but going to school full time I had no other choice since a full time job was not an option and I wasn't dancing at the time, so like emily said, this debt is NOT a bad thing, since I believe that my education is worth the debt. So, I probably owe about 3,000 still, but I got about 6, 000 of it payed off.
I can't really pick either yes or no because while I don't have any debts I also have not paid for a house in full...still renting.
I have decided not to do the whole student loan thing for school and instead stripping to pay for my classes, books etc.
Most of my debt is student loans. The other small portion is CC.
I agree. Responsibly managing debt makes you more creditworthy than acquiring no debt at all.Quote:

Well, almost Five years and still going. If I hadn't danced, we would never have been able to do the long term thing... I may not have had to pay for him, but the realationship was VERY expensive... And we now live together.
I did realize that I am more in love with him than when I met him, this coming from a VERY jaded dancer that can't stand most men when I'm not working. (o offense to any of the men reading this.) So free might bethe wrong word, but I don't have to do anything special to get him to love me, so it's a pretty good price to me.
I have no debt ..yet...I hope I dont acrew too much. Im trying to keep it under a grand at all times. I hope thats a good limit? I REALLY want a personal trainer ..only $570 for 6 weeks a training. I want to invest in myself so I can avoid going into debt.
Mortgage which is shared by me and hubby, my car is paid for, and I have a school loan everything else is paid for.
No dept. Lots of $$$ saved. I live on the cash that I make, and all of my life have been good with money;) , even when I was a teenager working at MickeyD's ...eeeewwwuhhh!
I have a car payment and a student loan, as well as a mortgage... Plenty, but I am able to save a large portion of my income.
No car payment, no student loans; I don't have my house yet, am still renting due to not living in the part of the country I want to settle down in, BUT I'm ahead on the rent by a month and a half. I make enough right now (doing part time because of school) to make sure car insurance, registration fees, rent, food, gas, etc. is covered and then some (by a little smidgeon.)
I hate credit cards-- never have one, hope never to have one (but also realize that companies and society in general have made this almost an impossibility).
I have no bad debt, only school loans to repay, at an excellent low interest rate. I paid off my old car, and gave it to the individual paying the note on my new car. I also rent, but thats normal for a single person who hasn't settled down........
I also have several thousand in my savings and IRA, AND plenty of cash on hand. BUT BUT BUT, I am a little overdrawn in my checking account at the moment, doh!! Dammit, buying things online can really throw off a gal, LOL! Typical stripper, hehe... ;)
Pretty much all of my debt is student loans.

I have some scolorships, and I've worked my butt off for years, but I still have over $30,000 in loans, and I still need to get atleast $7,000 before the fall semester starts. However I have an old car that I own, and I have a phone and computer, and I always have enough to eat now... and pretty soon I will have a degree so I hope it's all worth it. But yes, I have a ton of debt.
I'm not in much debt... I owe my mom $10,000 for a car loan that she provided, but I don't really view that as being in debt because it's my mom and she's not charging interest or anything. I have some on my credit card, but it's mostly my boyfriend's because I was a nice girlfriend and bought him $470 in tools :) That's about all, I think I'm rather good at managing my money.
No credit card as I have a small blip on my credit report that prevents me form acquiring one right now. I have a Visa debit card instead therefore if I don't have the $$ in my bank account I can't use the 'visa' part of the debit/key card. Whilst there are a few things I prefer to have 55 days interest free type of credit on.... this is best in the long run.
I'm renting so I have no mortgage even tho' in the future I plan to own my own unit/home (IOW, have a mortgage).
No car loans however that might change after this financial year as I require a car to do agency work. I see the car as an investment in my business (stripping) as it will enable me to expand into agency work therefore increasing my cash flow etc.
Oh yeah.. the car will also allow me to expand any other businesses I am doing at the time as well...
I really don't have any debt per say... just alot of expenses. I realise that they have risen in the past few months and now I'm striving to really look at what I can cut out, minimise and so forth to reduce my expenses and increase my savings.
zero balance on credit cards ... student loans all paid off ... fully paid for 2004 Subaru WRX ... But I haven't paid off my home mortgage because the loss of the tax deduction would actually cost me more money than the interest savings !
