dying eyebrows and my fiasco
Ok. So my hair is naturally a light blond, so i have been using an eyebrow pencil/shadow to darken them.
I decided i was sick of that tecnique and wanted my eyebrows tinted with hair dye. Well 9 dollars and 25 minutes later my eyebrows are EVEN LIGHTER!!!
help! what do i do? anyone with blond hair that tints their eyebrows know which color/brand i should have gone with? Should i just go to a salon? How much does that typically cost at a salon?:-\
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
oh girl! I can't imagine it would be very expensive at a salon...$25-30? maybe? I'm sorry to hear that but at least they aren't jet black or something!
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
Sorry to hear this! did this happen at a salon? demand a refund? I usta get just my eyelashes dyed, I believe it was around $25.00 (few yrs. ago). I'm med. fair w/reddish light brown hair (w/blond hi lites), & my eyebrows are light, & hairwise sparse. They have these prods. out w/some wax, & powder, (you could prob. use brownish eye shadow). I usta use a light ashy brown pencil, not so much now as I do office work & don't bother w/it as much. I also used a brown mascara lightly. Good luck!
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
PS I found the pencil, it's Cover Girl brow & eyemakers, soft brown, a nice neutral.
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
I paid 10 to 20 dollars to get my eyebrows dyed. Hardly worth it as it grows out within a month or two. If you do it, I suggest going darker than you want because of fading. My old salon in Dallas used to just throw on whatever hair dye they had left over after covering my head and never charged me.
Oooh. I read somewhere that Just For Men bear and mustache dye works great for coloring eyebrows. It's cheap too!
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
Before when i would go blond (i'm a natural brunette) My best friend would dye my hair and she would use left over dye with a q tip to color my eyebrows. Maybe you just needed a darker color.
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
I wouldnt risk doing it again by myself. I'd go to a salon.
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
Well I hope you read this before you do your eyebrows! If they turned out lighter yesterday you probably didn't notice this BUT... I decided to dye my eyebrowns a few years ago. I found out very quickly that you absolutely MUST wax around the brow first! You know, you just don't realize how many tiny (almost invisible pre-dye) hairs there are around your brow until it's too late!!!
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
I put some of the hair color left over from the dyeing on the eyebrows for 5 min before I wash all the hair color off.5 min is enough to color them without giving it too much tint.To me it sounds like they might have kept the color on them for too long (25 min?).they will probably fade in a few days, just like most hair color does, but if they are still too light, then use a light brown pencil, which will go great with blonde hair to line them.
Good luck!
Re: dying eyebrows and my fiasco
I always try to color mine when I do my hair, and it NEVER works! The brows don't grab the color evenly, so it is a big fiasco, and I wind up using a pencil anyway. Honestly, I think it is just easier to use the pencil.
