Welcome.
Ditto on the comparisions - with the added bonus that this board actually has intelligent conversation on it - unlike the UK boards.
Phil.
(Lurking in the London area).
Welcome!!!
Welcome to SW! :)
Thanks for the warm welcome! :)
The UK boards are a lot like UK people - quite odd and insular at first but fiercely loyal and wise when you get to know them but still inherently quirky! Me, i have Caribbean blood so i guess i'm a little more outgoing!
P.S. Lurking in London Phil! I'm in the Midlands.
Fiercely loyal and wise - this description cannot apply to London Strip or some of the other Yahoo groups surely.Quote:

It's run by Janice, who has her Entertease agency - one of the better ones if you are ever in the London area. (www.entertease.com)
Very little dance related stuff on it, but a fairly friendly board.
Frankly, I'd stick to Stripperweb, whose address I do not publicise in the UK for the good and simple reason that I do not fancy some of the bigger idiots on London Strip, etc., starting to post on here.
Anyhow, nice to make your (virtual) acquaintance.
Phil.
PS: also http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Brummie_Midlands_strip but the less said about this group the better.
Welcome to SW!! Have fun!
Ah, yes, ithe brummie group - i do recall joining, then shrieking in horror and never posting again!
I'm a mypole girl really, don't post anywhere else (although i feel that i'll be sticking around here! :) )
Hi and welcome (-:
I'm just on my way to England, I'm in Singapore for a couple of hours, then to London. Will probably stay down South I think, I'm originally from hastings.
Hey Aussie - if you want to work whilst you're here then check out the Pussycat Club in Hove or Top Totty in Brighton or - tell you what, have the list!

Small world - Brighton's where I was born. Know where the clubs are, but have never been inside either. I believe they are both topless only.Quote:

There's more work in London, which is readily accessible by train from Hastings.

I know I should ask this in club chat, but I'll quickly slip it in here - where is a good place to work in London? I've never worked there before and am not sure what the finincial climate is like now. Any pointers??
Spartaca, you say you work in the Midlands - is that at the Rocket Club? I worked there when it first opened and haven't been back since. I hear it's very busy nowadays!
I can ony tell you about the strip pub scene. (I know several dancers well enough to be told what they make.)Quote:

[The dancers I know work for Entertease, and to a lesser extent Promises, Angels Exotic and Rainbow]
Browns/the Griffin is reputed to be a good earner - but I don't have any direct info.
I know zilch about the lap dance clubs.
Private parties can be good. Tillies, Tania's and Full Service can result in good earnings, but you have to know the individuals concerned to get bookings at these shows - differing degrees of contact as well. [Not my taste - so I don't go to these parties].
A hell of a lot of pubs are putting on monthly stags: basic + jug for the finale. Most of these are fairly blue and you'd have to be comfortable with that to do these. That said, a number of the straighter girls are turning up at stags because they are earning less in the pubs. [My experience of these is backstage].
PM me if you want a guide as to earnings.
Phil.
Exactly what Phil said!
I work in Leicester - i was offered a job at Rocket Club but saw 30 girls and 10 customers in on a Thursday night plus the £170 house fee and decided against it. That was last year though so things have probably picked up since then.
Phil is pretty much spot on about things being spread too thinly, too many clubs, too many girls in lots of places - the pubs try to keep numbers more sensible, but in general all clubs seem to be suffering from the GFF syndrome (girls for fees) in a bid to make money.
As for busy clubs in London, they seem to be Spearmint, For Your Eyes Only, Secrets and Stringfellows.
£170!!! Typical agency fee for a London pub booking is £15 - £20, with £15 - £30 going to the pub in house fee.Quote:

(c) Transport - you'll need a good driver, and they're in short supply.
Phil.
The £170 was the top of a sliding scale depending on what time you arrived - the time i could ever get there meant that i would have paid £170 per night. Lowest was £80 i recall.
Spartaca - Shit! £170 house fee is royally taking the piss. No thanks. Birmingham is a saturated and dying market as it is and that is just pure greed. When the club first opened, it was either a £50-60 house fee as I recall. My how times have changed!
PhilW - As for London, thanks for the info. I have been browsing the MyPole site occasionally to get some info regarding the London scene. I don't live in London so am not sure how easy it'll be to get a job in a strip pub (I hear Browns/Griffin only consider local girls). But I will bear it in mind and will PM you if I have any more questions. I also hear that Metropolis is good (a friend just came back from working there), but I'll keep my ear to the ground.
Cheers for your help! :)
Welcome Spartaca!!! Good to have more English here!
Malibu, dont go to London in July-August. You wont earn money
Thanks for the heads up Charly! I hear Christmas is the business there (as it is anywhere, but especially in London!). I hope that things are still good for you in the USA!! You lucky girl :)
Mailbu: Lucky? Girl you better believe!!! I am totally blessed
Thanks Spartaca and Phil (-: I've been trying to find out about the Brighton clubs. I'm currently in London trying to decide where want to go next. I wasnt going to work just yet, but I'm thinking about it already. I've been too tired to check clubs out s far, I'm asleep by about 8pm, lol!
