Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
WHY DO CUSTOMERS WANT TO KNOW MY REAL NAME???
I hate saying "I'm sorry but I don't like to give it out...."
It's starting to make me mad, At least every other guy aske me to tell him my real name. Customers know that it's fake when they come in so why do they care about your real name!?!
It's bad enough fending off the guys who want my number...If I want you to have my PERSONAL information...I'll GIVE it to you!!
AAARGH!!!!!!!!>:(
ok. done.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Eh. Im not downing customers but guys ask the same question not even thinking that the previous customer probably asked the same one.
One way I try to deal with this is just telling him that I will tell him later. Then when he asks again I tell him my real name "Michelle"...which isnt my real name its my fake real name. ;) Luckily this hasnt been asked to me alot so when it does come along I have my answer.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
It doesn’t really bother me as long as they are getting dances.. tell them your fantacy truth..
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
just lie.. .they don't want to pay for the truth.. They want you to tell them the truth of course, but thats when the money stops flowing.
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Tell them another fake name.It shuts them up.
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
I'm guessing that you have a stripper-sounding name (Destiny...Allure...etc).
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
HAHAHAH my fake real name is Whitney. Fake real names tend to quiet them down. Just make sure you answer to it!

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Hi. I'm new to this (in fact I've only posted once before to congratulate a friend on her engagement), so if I'm not doing it properly, let me know. :)
I can't speak for other customers, but at the risk of stating the obvious, I suspect that a customer asking a girl her real name is, at least, an indication that the customer either wants or needs to feel closer to the girl he's with. Since - perhaps depending on the level of contact - intimacy is a component of the relationship, it's a natural thing to do. To me, it's also a good thing -- he sees the dancer as a person, not just an object. I would think that in most cases it's good for the girl too -- if she wants repeat business, establishing a relationship is a necessary part of it. It's the same reasoning behind dancers asking for the names of their customers (which happens more often than not). Of course, some customers are creeps who you wouldn't want to disclose your real name to, but my experience is that dancers are skillful at recognizing them and can keep personal information to a minimum.
If giving out your real name concerns you, though, don't do it. It's possible -- but unlikely -- that you'll lose the customer. But if you do lose the customer over that, his business isn't worth it. And I wouldn't recommend giving out a fake name. I'd rather have a dancer tell me that she doesn't know me well enough yet to give me her real name than give me a fake one that I find out later is phoney.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
^^Alot of reasons we dont give out our real names and dont dance with real names is b/c some customers can be potential stalkers. Id rather keep my safety and give the guy a fake real name.
I made the mistake of telling a regular (he wad drunk all the time too) my real name. I thought hey hes nice and spends money on me and never tries to grope me. So, I tell him my real name and later that day as we were talking and after he had gone to his car for a swig on mr. flask he blatantly says my real name very loudly. "(real name here) when are you going on stage next?" ....never again will someone get my real name.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
What I did to avoid that question was pick a name that sounded similar to a "real" name.
I dance under Nico and when someone would ask my real name I'd tell them it was Nicole. (It's not really, of course.)

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
i know almost every girls real in the club i'm at. i've never revealed them to other people. to me it shows that they do trust me. at least to the point that knowing their first name isn't that big of a deal. shows to me that their comfortable around me and can drop the act. but it does take alot to get one to that point.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
I totally agree.
Do you dance by Heaven777, what's your dance name? Are you in school? Do you have a boyfriend? Is that a cold sore?
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
I do dance by Heaven, Sitri. But I'm NOT telling you anything else LOL!

This is decidedly counter-intuitive to a good SC experience, and particularly so if you're hoping to curry favor with the dancer for OTC fun. You don't need to know her real name to enjoy her and it's incredibly easy to establish a relationship with a dancer without knowing her personal information (or your own). Dancers hate it when guys are so cluelessly and pathetically trying to treat them like they're there to socialize instead of pay the rent.
Any dancer that has any interest in you beyond economic motivations will not hesitate to let you know. CO's First Rule of SCing is Always follow the dancer's lead.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
^ Honey, that's what they all say to me, at which point I ask them, "What's for breakfast?"
;)

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Do as my GF does - use your real name all the time. She has never had problems doing that. (except maybe from me. :-) )

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
CO says it all (as does Heaven). If you want to be treated as an object, you'll attract customers who treat you that way. Which is cool if that's what you want. Yes, we all know dancers are there to pay the rent, not to socialize. But if you treat customers like money machines, especially ones with brains above their groins, they'll know it.
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Would they like to give you their real name and address?
-
Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
I've got to know several dancers OTC, and hence know real names, fake real names and stage names.
It's giving me advanced paranoia trying to remember what to call them and when.
More seriously, getting to know a dancers' real name tends to be when you step over the line from a customer/dancer relationship to a friend/friend relationship. Accordingly, dancers ain't going to tell you their real name unless they are damn sure they want to know you as a person and not as a customer. (And we all know how often that happens!!!)

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
I actually think that a girl should be flattered that a customer wants to know her real name and something about her. It means that he thinks of her as a person rather than a piece of meat. We've all been brainwashed against treating women as sex objects, and this is one ramification of that. As someone else said, my ATF avoided this problem by dancing under her real name. And it didn't cause her any problems.
BTW, the stalker argument is bogus. Any guy who wants to know your real name badly enough will find a way to do so. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Hiding your real name won't protect you from the stalker. In fact I think you could argue just the opposite, that it increases the challenge for him and makes it more fun.

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
This is just one of those customer questions, along with:
"Are those real?"
"How did you get into dancing?"
"Are you in school?"
"Do you have kids?"
"Are you married?"
"So, what else do you do?"
"Can I have your number?"
that you can expect to hear on a regular basis from now on. The sooner you develop deflecting answers and learn not to be annoyed by them, the better. Hearing the same questions over and over again and being able to answer them charmingly is every bit as much part of the job as taking off your clothes.
Not that I don't think it's ok to lose it every once in a while and give a completely smart-assed answer to someone very obviously clueless or annoying . . . .
"So, doesn't your man mind you doing this?"
"Oh, gosh, no. But he hated it when I was a hooker."

Re: Customers stop asking me !!!!!!!
Even if you tell a custy your real name they never believe you anyways....so it doesn't matter what name you give. Just throw one out there, there was a running joke at one club I worked....like half the girls would respond with Michelle....then a custy asked me, "how can half the girls in this club really be named Michelle? what are the odds?"......DUH........Michelle was the standard "real/fake" name most of the girls used. :jester:
