need help! no experience at all!
i just graduated high school (starting college next year) and i have been interested in exotic dancing for a while. i have absolutely no experience as a dancer of any kind at all, but i have been doing those carmen electra striptease dvds for fun, and i love it! right now i am 5'6", about 140 lbs (trying to lose weight), and i have 34 AA breasts, which is really really small I know, but I have no money for plastic surgery and don' tknow if I would even be willing to go that far. how do I get started as a dancer? can i even become a dancer with that small of boobs? i need to make money for college, and I htink this would be a fun way to earn $$. i know i have to work my way up and everything, but I truly have no clue on how to get started with this sort of thing. any suggestions? thanks!
Re: need help! no experience at all!
First let me say welcome to SW. Here are a couple of suggestions......
- Don't worry about your breast size. Variety is the spice of life and customers have many different tastes. My ATF is an A cup as well, and I hope she never decides to tamper with her natural beauty. (She's comfortable with herself so the likelyhood of a BA in her future is remote, which is great for me cause I think she's awsome just the way she is.)
- You found a great resource here with tons of information and tips on how to get started and be successful. Take time to search the site and read through the threads. Lots of girls, especially in this Newbie Board section have been where you are. Take advantage of the tips they received.
- First step to getting started is if you have never been to a club before go and visit some as a customer. Now as a female, depending on the club rules, you may need a male escort to accompany you into the club. It's very important to go and visit places to get a feel for them. Clubs vary greatly even in the same area, and a specific club may vary from day to day and/or shift to shift. For example a club A may be a large upscale gown club, while club B may be a small neighborhood place. Club A may have a different feel to it on a Friday night vs. a Tuesday afternoon.
The important part of visiting a club is to get a feel for the setting. Do you think this is a place you could see yourself. Does it cater to the type of customers you feel you can be successful with. Are the club rules something you feel comfortable operating under (ie: contact level, dress code, shift requirements, drink sales, TIP OUT, etc.)
Check their age requirement. You mentioned you just graduated high school. Make sure you are old enough to work at the place your interested in.
- You mentioned you've already started the Carmen Electra DVD's. Personally I've heard mixed reviews on them. Some other resources you should check out if you haven't already run across them on other parts of the site are the following:
The S Factor: Book that can teach you some basic dance moves and pole work, as well as stretching and other ways to take care of yourself.
http://www.sfactor.com/
Stripper Faq.org : a site operated by a former NYC dancer with lots of information and resources for newbies on how to get started. (Note: check out her picture. She's not huge chested, and did very well for herself.)
http://www.stripper-faq.org/
- Once you find a club you're interested in, find out how they hire. Some clubs will have you come in before hours to meet with a manger, some will let you do a quick audition on a side stage during club hours, some will ask you to compete in an Amateur contest, and some will just hire you on the spot. A quick call to the club can help you find out how they hire new dancers.
- Feel free to let us know how you are doing, and to come back with any specific questions you may have. Just keep in mind that many on the board will greatly appreciate it if you take advantage of the SEARCH function. After you've done a search, if you still have a questions feel free to post. As you can see from the Moderator's post, no one wants to see another name thread. LOL.
BEST OF LUCK!!!
