House Fees Listed
Forgive me if this has been addressed before, but I've searched and not found a clear answer...
Since I've only worked the one club that I'm at now, I have no clue how it goes elsewhere, but do many clubs actually have their dancers house fees listed anywhere inside the club? Posted say in the locker room or even the manager's office?
I'm asking because I've been experimenting with different shifts (which have different house fees) and one of the managers seems to be playing a game with me. (Telling me one thing, then changing it, being an ass the entire way around, yada yada.) Needless to say, the club's house fees and suggested tipouts are not posted anywhere.

Re: House Fees Listed
Ask the GIRLS on whatever shift, and pay what they pay. Don't ask the manager how much, just hand it to him, smile and walk away.

But she has to get a receipt right Bridgett?

Re: House Fees Listed
Actually a club I work at in Tucson, you just pay your manager at the end of your shift. But given that's a smaller club. At the club I work at in Phoenix, which is more an upscale gentlemen's club, you pay at the cashier before you even start your shift and they give you a reciept for yourself and one for the management. With so many girls it's easier and more accurate that way. Big clubs versus small clubs I guess.
As for the original poster, do you have more than one manager? Talk to a different manager and see what they say. Or like Bridgette said ask the girls. As far as I'm concerned though I wouldn't want to stay at a club with shady management, it's never turns out very good.

Re: House Fees Listed
It's more of a difference between day and night managers (plus a few alternates that they throw in from time to time). We pay our managers our house fees. We are supposed to tip them also. There are no receipts given, none as far as I've ever seen.
I'm a dayshift girl. Apparently, Sundays have different rules because the club opens later (instead of 11am it's 4pm). It's the only day of the week that works they way it does. As far as I know it's the *same* snakey manager on Sundays (who, incidentally, also works various nights -- so I've seen him, he knows me, we've had numerous "hey, how's it going" conversations -- it's a given that he's going to stand there and make me talk to him, tried doing the "give the money and run" to get called over *the next day* to discuss his payout scheme).
When I've talked to another manager about it, I've gotten the "I don't work that shift, so you'll have to ask [Snakey]". So, naturally, Snakey can do whatever he wants.
This club is the only game in town (Memphis, TN) for dayshift. It's the shift I most regularly work, but it's been horribly slow so I was experimenting with other shifts. I've been there almost a year.
I'm thinking that I'll hit the owner (either in person or via snail mail or maybe a combo of both) with the idea that house fees should be listed. Maybe then Snakey will have to commit to ONE payout routine. That's why I was curious to know if other clubs have it listed. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part.
At the very least, it's been therapeutic discussing it with those outside the club, so I thank all of you that read and posted for that! :)

Re: House Fees Listed
At my old club, they have it in the rules and regulations booklet every new hire gets. If there is a change (very rarely) they'll post it in the locker room. For the most part, the guys are on the up and up about it...although kinda greedy...it's all in the open.

Re: House Fees Listed
Amberlily, what club do you work at in Memphis? Because I work at Christie's Cabaret and I know that they own three clubs in Memphis where the owner is originally from. He owns Christie's Cabaret, The Gold Club, and Platinum Rose. And if they are anything like my Christie's then you should think about going over there. Though I hear from the owner that Memphis is completely different clientele in general than here in Phoenix.

Re: House Fees Listed
Our house fees are listed in the dressing room. We actually pay our house fee to the dj and he is responsible for getting it to the manager.

Re: House Fees Listed
AL, I believe you are working at a chain club--it might not hurt to drop a line to the head honchos and let them know you are being jerked around and that this manager isn't very professional. And suggest fees be posted--that's always nice.

Re: House Fees Listed
Yep, because if you dont, they will keep doing it to you. When I worked at the Boat in Alaska, the mgr woman ALWAYS changed it up on me. She would see how many dances I did and charge me more when she knew I had more. Thing is though, I would charge $100/per SONG in the vip, and one guy got 9 from me one night, and she had no clue as to how much I made. Also, you have to sell 6 drinks a night, and if you get more, youre supposed to get like 5-10$ back. Well, one night I sold 16 drinks (my bladder!) and she STILL charged me! It was ridiculous, I got charged like 160$ if I remember correctly. Bah.

Re: House Fees Listed
Yeah, most clubs I've worked have the fee schedule posted somewhere. I've never had a problem with a manager shifting up the fee. I would definitely say something about it. I would even question him very nicely to his face when he charged me differently one day to the next: "What exactly is the fee schedule? Because yesterday I paid $x and today you're telling me to pay $y..."
