I dont get it,and often times dont like to question military training methodes,but just what the hell is this jet carrying air to ground munitions for over the united states??

The harrier has been kind of a bad news plane. They've had three other crashes involving them at this same MCAS in the last couple of years.
Apparently it almost hit a Wal-Mart. Yikes! Thankfully, it was low on fuel and the bombs had safety features to ensure they didn't explode in the event of a crash.
As for why this plane had live munitions in the first place, I believe the MCAS in Yuma uses the Chocolate Mountains in Southern California as a bombing range.
