Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
I'm on this stupid diet and almost all I eat is CHICKEN!!! I eat seafood every now and then and plenty of veggies, but mostly its CHICKEN. My loving, thoughtful BF even bought me a 6.5lb bag of chicken breasts to be supportive :heartbeat
I feel like going on a rampage and murdering all those godforsaken birds, but then I'd probably have to eat them. :yuck:

lol! at eating those godforsaken birds!

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
What will a diet of eating only chicken do? I understand the increase in protein..but other than that....
-
Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
LOL, not just chicken!l
I don't eat red meat, so chicken and seafood are pretty much it. I'm doing that whole low-carb thing. I eat fruits and veggies too, of course! It's just that with that huge bag of chicken
breasts in the freezer, I wake up in the morning going "What shall I eat today, should I have the chicken,....or the chicken?"

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
How about turkey, or duck, or cornish game hen instead?
Seafood has a lot more variety too...mmmm...sashimi...works well with low-carb...
I'm starving, doing the slimfast "thing" because I'm too slothful to work out.....

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
That's cute he bought you a big bag of chicken. Is that the south beach diet? I did that before and lost weight fast.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Good suggestions, Kat! Especially since I live within walking distance of a Japanese restaurant!
SGC, its more of the Raven diet ;) I am basically avoiding bread and pasta, eating only lean protein, fruits, nuts, and veggies(but not potatoes). And keeping portion sizes small! It worked well for me a year ago, until I rediscovered McDonald's french fries!

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Way ahead of you on hating chicken. I live next to a poultry farm, so I avoid chicken whenever possible...bad enough being SURROUNDED by chicken......
Quick alternatives are canned tuna (cheaper than fresh fish), tofu, and peanut butter.

Hehe. Be grateful you have the option.
I have a lethal allergy to all forms of poultry.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Just as I suspected:
CHICKEN=DEATH!
They're evil, I tell ya!
Becoming a vegetarian is starting to appeal to me...

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
The low carb. diet is what my new roomie is on, of course me not eating any form of meat for a year now, he is making me sick. He does not feel to well, he only gets a tiny portion of carbs, he is a tad sluggish...I swear i see his muscles shrinking...He laughs, but ok.
No. to the one poster, the South Beach diest lets you have carbs. I think it's a better rounded out diet for anyone. High protien is taxing on the kidneys.
But i can't say "Don't eat any fuckin meat!!!" To him. So i have an open mind with him.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
I'm not completely eliminating carbs, I'm just getting them from fruits and vegetables instead of from bread, rice, etc. When I was on the Atkins diet a while back, I was completely miserable and cheated too much. Now if i want something sweet, I grab a banana.
I know from experience that simple starches are what turns me into a :cow:
So I just stay away from them. Gotta have a cookie every now and then, though.
BTW--CO, my mom has the same thing, only with shellfish.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Seitan is good too. Just add it to some stir-fry or a salad and it is a good chicken alternative. The texture and taste are different from chicken so it will give you a nice break! (Plus seitan is very high in protein and low in carbs and fat.)

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
If you're doing all/high protein drink LOTS of water. You don't want to develop ketosis!

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
I forgot to suggest beans/ legumes. There are so many available that they can augment your cuisine without making you feel bored.
You still need a source of healthy fat in your diet....especially during summer weather...I suggest olive oil and raw nuts.
PS Lethal allergy to chicken? How about that. I just hate smelling their feed, poop, feathers and seeing their sad little bird faces in cages getting trucked to the processing plant. Count me allergic-by-overexposure.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
I don't diet. I used to diet so much that I finally gave up. Now, I just don't eat any fast food and I eat mainly salad. Only because, its just me right now- daughter is with grandparents and hubby is deployed.. makes no sense to cook for just me...
But, I love chicken!! BOK BOK BOK

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Actually, I like chicken, sorry. I recently bought kosher chicken, & it was delicious. Supposedly, kosher meat is from animals killed humanely. I've tried a semi-vegitarian diet, & it just doesn't work at all for me.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
^ I was about to ask the same thing. Apparently I live under a rock.
thanks for the sympathy ::)
:neener: chicken lovers!

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
Seitan is wheat gluten, smooshed and flavored to be a meat substitute. It's OK for making fake barbecued brisket and stuff. You can get it in the meatless meat section; sometimes it's near the produce section.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
So now we know how to knock off CO if he starts getting out of line. Poison him with CHICKEN. Muahahahaha.

Re: Chicken,Chicken Everywhere!
To make your chicken more exciting you could top it with salsa, low carb bbq sauce, low carb teriyaki, or southwestern sauce, or even soy sauce.
