OK, the clubs in my town are small--five girls might show up on a weekday and a weekend normally sees 14 or 15 girls, maybe up to 20 if they are all desperate for some cash! ::)
Anyway, when someone comes in and buys champagne EVERYONE in the club knows it. Not just the girls but all the customers too, since the waitresses are rushing all over the place and the manager gets his fat ass up and literally starts pandering to this person or group.
The last time this happened was years ago, but my ATF was depressed because it meant the she was going to HAVE to go over to see him. Sure enough, after getting a bunch of other girls paraded before him in what was very much a cattle call, a waitress came over and my ATF had to leave for a bit.
Turns out he of course was looking for girls to 'party' with him that night after the 2 AM close and my ATF said she couldn't and got back to me. Sure it may have been as innocent as a normal bachelor party, but just the way she said it, told me she did not at all appreciate being 'pimped out' like that.
In the course of a normal night, SHE can pick the customers she approachs--she likes me as a regular since I AM a safe haven when she thinks the rest of the crowd are jerks/assholes/cheap; but when whales come in she loses her discretion and is told to suck it up and be part of the team. (And I used that phrase to go with pandering and pimping since I'm very sure he wanted OTC extras.)

I'm curious to here your own whale experiences--let us know the level of whaledom involved and if the experience was good or bad and if it left you feeling dirty or flush with tons of cash...
