Bare Elegance - LA area
I have read mixed reviews about the Bare, more warnings than praises, but I succumbed to temptation and decided to see for myself.
The Bare has the best club layout that I have seen in Southern California. Spacious but not too spread out, and elegant but not pretentious. The upstairs "balcony" adds a nice touch. The different stages are well designed and provide a nice variety. Unfortunately, this nice real estate hosts a mediocre strip club.
I am not impressed by the dancer lineup. There was exactly one stunner that I saw, and she spent all the time after her stage set at a table with two guys without doing any dances. The rest of the girls glow in the dark :) - they look like stunner material when you can't really see them (which happens in most areas of the club), and the minute they pass through a bright spot, the bubble is badly burst.
Speaking of lighting, the round stage has fairly constant but dim lighting. The main stage has moving spot lights, and it is a roll of the dice whether the lights will be on the dancer when she is in front of you. Without those spot lights, the main stage is even darker than the round stage. Also, like in the VB, the spot lights periodically hit the tip rail customers in the eye.
The lap mileage is on the low side. Given the prices, it is on the VERY low side. I spent more than two hours in the club and did not notice a single customer going with a girl for a dance except at the 2-for-1 specials, which happened 3 times while I was there.
This is the second club I visit this month that is considered upscale (4 Play is the other), and I got the same impression: Where is the beef? Both clubs are low-mileage. Both have average dancer lineups. It seems to me that the e-word of mouth :) has led to fewer uninitiated PL's who are attracted by the upscale facade then find out 300 dollars later that they have been had. I have no other explanation for why there are fewer stunners here and more stunners elsewhere. Top dancers follow the money trail.
