I never massaged per my PS's instructions. Sorry I can't be of more help.
My ps told me not to massage but of course every ps is different. From what I understand cc isnt all that common. You may want to visit BA411 or Yes They Are Fake (I found alot of info abt ba ?'s on there. How long ago was your ba?
thanks girls
ooh stephani 411 drives me nutso - soo many problems and soo many people saying is this normal, is that normal ! can't handle it LOL but youre right there is a wealth of info there.
my BA was in march
they look great but they are a little firm. i am wondering just how soft they shoudl be ?
Mine are pretty firm, I got them last April, I only massaged for the first few months and then I slacke off, however I've been thinking about starting to massage them again since they feel kinda firm.
Actually, capsular contracture seems pretty common--I see a LOT of baseball boobs out there! I don't have fake 'uns, but if I were in your shoes, I'd still be massagin'.:D
yeah i see alot of baseballs too ! :-) Mine are not really baseballs (they are obviously not real) but I know the look you mean. i got moderates too so i guess that helped a bit.
I would keep it up for a year. I sleep on my stomach, which accomplishes kind of the same thing, so I don't formally massage. Every once in a while I'll give them a hard squeaze to make sure they still move as high up as before, etc. My PS said to massage them forever.
thanks vanessa. i sleep on my stomach too and was thinking it has to help some. i wonder why some ps say massage others say dont ? strange !
^I would imagine that the type of implant one has would be one of the reasons.
My ps also told me not to massage but, everyone I ever talked to with great looking breast tells me they massage them. I still do and highly recommend do so to keep your breast soft. Its funny that you 2 sleep on your stomachs as I was told my breast would sag if I did.
I had the armpit incision. My friend with the incisions in the creases was told not to massage. Maybe it relates to that.
my incision was through the belly button....and per my doc told me not to massage ....hmmmmm?
Yes, I massaged my implants several times a day after surgery for months. I cant exactly remember for how long with both BAs, but still over 7 years later after 2nd BA, I still massage them every now and then.
I stopped massaging at 2 months out. I have had my McGans for 6 years, saline and have never had a problem with hardening, contraction or any other problems. Hope this helps! ;D
I still am massaging. I enjoy it.
I am also sleeping on my front on water bed.
I have PPP implants and they still increase.
penelope are those yours in the pic ?
I am massaging very often.
You must do this. I think never stop this.
Yes. May you can look on my website.
Hi Pen and welcome. I think that you'll like StripperWeb a lot better than BEA.
To answer the girls' question ... yes that is Penelope's picture ... yes those are her boobs ... and yes she has the same 'problem' that I do in that her implants keep growing bigger and bigger over time.
My sister got hers about a year and a half ago; and she still walks around the house massaging them. She had a problem with them wanting to encapsulate though. I think she still does it as a preventative measure, or maybe she just like massaging them, who knows?
I am not a PS or know as much about this as Mel would, just a guy who has felt more than a few in my time :-)
It has always seemed to me that there are pretty much three types of women when it comes to BA results and getting CC there are the women that get told not to massage them, don't, don't really do anything and never get it. The ones that would get it if they didn't take measures to prevent getting it, massage, even ultra sound in same cases and manage to not get it or in some cases keep it from coming back, and the ones that no matter what get it and keep getting it as long as they have implants.
It's like it is genetic or something
The severity seems to be different as well from firm enough that you know that there is no way they are real but are still pliable to hard like a softball or cantelope, depending size.
Mel do you think that just maybe some, hopefully a small % of the PS out there that say not to massage do this because they are hoping for the return business?
Much like talking a girl into smaller implants than she wants, hoping she will then be back for a second time to make them bigger.
Sort of like this: No massage leads to CC, (in some women) CC leads to getting your BA redone, maybe bigger (while we are at it) which leads to more money? They are probably the ones who will be most vocal about it being a "normal" thing and therefore not free.
Maybe give you a "discount"
speaking from experience, as I have had mine get encapsulated - massage is the best route to NOT having that happen. It's like taking ones vitamins or putting conditioner in your hair in the shower. It's routine, it something you do every day.. My experience and my two cents worth.
Miss R.
as to the matter of plastic surgeons possibly positioning themselves for 'future business', in all honesty I'd have to say that this is a 50-50 proposition. 50% stems from conservatism (i.e. putting in small implants to avoid lots of skin stretching, not recommending massage to reduce the possibility of internal bleeding), with the other 50% stemming from a basic disregard for the financial burden on patients having to spring for two surgeries instead of one to achieve the original result they wanted. After all, to a Plastic Surgeon, 5 grand is pocket change.
My Doctor told me that I could do either. (Yes or no to massage)
He said that there is no way of proving whether massage works or not. Because both, girls that massage and don't massage, get CC.
Massaging might be the thing the prevents it. You might be pre dispositioned to get it.
I say if you do massage after you've healed, it won't hurt. So why not.
I love massaging mine anyway.
Would anyone else agree with that?
