Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Get yer mind out da gutters!!!!!
I mean pool tables.
Look at the top clubs in the country, most have done away with the pool table,a once standard piece of furniture in a gentlemens club.
A strip club had to have a pool table!!!!!!!
Right???
Some still do have the bartop quarter arcade thingys, mostely dominated by the strippers not making money, only spending it.
So heres the question....
If your club has a pool table,is it a top club or a profitable club???

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
i think that it gives the guys something else to do if they feel nervous or are bored and want to kill time because a dancer they like isn't onstage yet or out of the dressing room. we don't have one at my current place of work, but two other places i've worked had them, and they didn't really affect my $ to my knowledge.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Shit I was going to say yes, a guy I knew had a friend who died doing an 8 ball. But oh, you mean a pool table. I've danced in a club with a pool table and I thought it kind of sucked that it gave the guys something else to do.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
The club I worked at had the following:
Two pool tables
A golf arcade game
and a table top arcade game that had various games to choose from for a buck...
And.. people would come in and just loiter and play those.
I think that those things should be reserved for non strip club bars.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
So we have guys going to strip clubs, some of which might even charge a cover, and all they want to do is shoot pool?
I'm missing something, right?
-
Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
I wish we would get rid of our pool table! I think it detradts from the entertainers. I don't mind if they are out of the way but ours is right by the bar so guys can play pool and watch us for free!
-
Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
I like watching the dancers bend over to make their shots
-
Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Pool tables just give the cheap guys a new excuse to gawk at the girls and not tip. Same goes for tv's.
-
Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
I dislike them when they're right out on the main floor. Mainly because, as stated, guys will come in, shoot pool, nurse one beer for an hour and stare at the girls. The club I am at now does have one, but there is a seperate "Game Room" type area out off the lobby. There's a pool table, several flatscreen TV's, and a couple of the Megatouch games. The dancers are not allowed to go out there unless invited by a custie to shoot a game or something. I think it's better this way. The music isn't piped in there either so if someone actually wants to watch and more importantly HEAR a game or something, they have a place to go.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
The last place I worked at had those. It was a way for guys to loiter and win pretend money all night long. They took up way to much space. When I was in Reno they have bar top games where guys would play and occasionally look over their shoulder at the naked women (not tip btw) and when a dancer approached them they would shoo them away.
I dont really like other things to entertain in a SC besides the girls. What they come and pay the admission and sit down to do what ..yea take up space and not tip. I wish clubs would do away with all of those useless games.
To answer the question none of the clubs I was at that had such games including a pool table were top clubs.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
The Colorado in Houston had a couple of pool tables in the annex sports bar room, not in the showroom. Some guys loitered, but lots of girls were good players and hustled them for money. I heard these days they have replaced the pool tables with private booths that have opaque curtains around them and porn videos playing inside.
I think the pool tables were a better idea.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
I've worked several clubs with public pool tables and only ONE was worth working at. The others were pieces of crap with no business and the jerks playing pool only served to annoy me. Some gentlemen's clubs had a pool table in the VIP, and that was totally cool - gave us more to do during those hours...

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
All three of the bigger clubs here used to have a single pool table. When one of the clubs decided to go upscale last year, they got rid of theirs. At the other two, one is sort of behind a partition, the other sits practically ten feet from the main stage.
Personally, I think pool tables and arcade games look out of place in the upscale establishments. They tend to be better suited at the joints where you have a blue collar crowd. One redneck establishment that I went to down in Oklahoma actually had nine of them.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
The price to play a single game of pool here is outrageous compared to a pool hall, so the SC makes a lot of money off of the tables--when real customers are playing with the dancers or themselves, that is.
However, it seems that mostly the guys playing pool all night are the dancers boyfriends and/or the managers/owners friends getting to play for free and/or a reduced rate. (It's sad when I, as a customer, know this, right?)
All that said, I DO like to see some of the girls bending over to make their shots when I'm by the pool tables. ;)
I've seen the cue ball fly off the table at least eight times--one time ALMOST hitting an unsuspecting customer in the back--so maybe an eight ball could kill ya!

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
We have not one, but FIVE pool tables and three of those tabletop arcade game things. It's a small club with two sides. The pool tables in front are located directly in front of the main stage and in back, there are three stages and 3 pool tables.
About half of the club's customers go there to play pool, not to see the girls. The tables make more money than we do. Personally, If I wanted to play pool, I would go to a pool hall, not a tittie bar. I go to a tittie bar to see...titties!
I went to Ocean's Cabaret(the closest thing we have to an upscale bar around here) in VA Beach recently, and they have the right idea. They have pool tables, but they're in a room to themselves, away from the stage areas.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Quoth!! You come visit me and then........Nothing!!! WTF!! Anyway to the question at hand, I agree with what is being said by the majority. Pool tables are Ok at Gentlemen's Clubs if they are in a seperate area, not around the main stage area. I hate to see guys get a free show when the ladies are busting there azz for what few dollars are on stage. That's my job, to play music and get a free show. LOL. BG stop takin all your boss's money on the table too. LOL.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
my main club has them in our sportsbar, not the showbar. only one now i think.
my neighborhood club has two, but away from the stage. girls and customers play on them. mostly early in the night
both of the clubs you can make great to decent money.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
The club I frequent (BA's in Melbourne) has one which is occassionally used, but also serves as the place for the feature dancers to sell there poloroids and videos and stuff. :)
What clubs are you at Velvet? (Assuming that is okay to ask.)
-
Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Ok so would everyone,or at least most people agree,
If a girl walks into a potential new club,Pool tables are something she should look at??
If they are in the same room as the stage, strike one???
Im not slamming the clubs with pool tables next to the stage,im just trying to point out a hidden red flag for girls to look at when deciding on a club to work at.

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
Hate, I'm still waiting for that spanking you owe me...
BG, IMO pool tables (especially in the stage area) give the club less of a gentleman's club "feel". At my old club, guys would argue and get in fights over pool games or whose quarter was on the table. It was sad, because the club itself was decent, but the four pool tables attracted the wrong kind of clientele. The cops pretty much lived in our parking lot...
I used to hate trying to talk people up to the stage and hearing, "Oh, I'm just here for the tournament," which means they only brought money for beer.
Also, having video games/pool tables gives the customers too many options. I understand that they bring in money for the club, but they are distracting. If a club owner feels his club must have them, then there should be a game area away from the stage(s).
Generally, unless the club is really nice, pool tables are a big deterrent for me. I remember walking into Papermoon SS the first time and getting excited b/c there were no pool tables and only 1 TV, which was on the Weather Channel. TVs are another story...

Re: Will an 8 ball kill ya????
YES BigGreen. If I walk into a club and see pool tables in the main room I'm outta there. If they have public pool tables at ALL (not the ones in vip), it'll be a strike against them and I may or may not want to give the place a try. Public pool tables are NOT for the SC.

Hell the old Pit stop in newport news had at least 20 tables till she burned down!!!
That pool table at the moon,even 10 years ago,was 2.00 a game!!!
It usually never went empty and usually made as much money as 1-2 dancers per night.
God I made alot of money off that table!!!LOLOLOL
But the consulting firm was right,it took up the room of 5-6 tables,or 5-15 customers and 5-10 dancers working and generating better odds at more money return in the end.
Oh well,I like a pool table in a gentlemens club.
