Re: Guys Who STARE...and Don't Get Dances! WTF!?!??!
If you're talking about guys who simply watch the stage routine but don't tip, well, although annoying, it's par for the course and we just ignore them to focus on PAYING customers. They shouldn't be allowed to hang at the tiprail but if they're buying drinks they're allowed in the club. Since they're not paying for the show they should have to sit in back or at the bar only :P
If you're talking about guys who STARE, and then attempt to lead you to believe they're going to buy a dance but never do - that's a whole 'nother story. They should be kicked in the head.
Re: Guys Who STARE...and Don't Get Dances! WTF!?!??!
IMO
Men shouldnt come into the club if theyre not looking to spend to have a good time. You dont go to a restaraunt to smell the food and watch others eat do you??
Re: Guys Who STARE...and Don't Get Dances! WTF!?!??!
I only come in once in a while. I'm at the 15% tax bracket, so I can't spread my wealth - I don't have any. Guys in my predicament are the reason why strip clubs are lacking foot traffic.
Look on the bright side. There's motivation to move along to a different career path, and it filters out the weak hustlers.
Of course, I wish all you beautiful ladies the best! http://www.stripperweb.com/gallery/f...bananalama.gif
Re: Guys Who STARE...and Don't Get Dances! WTF!?!??!
Heh, I would prefer that only guys who have and intend to spend money on us girls be allowed in the clubs, but as BigGreen points out, the ones who just pay cover and buy drinks help keep the clubs OPEN for us to work in. It kinda falls on management and the girls to "train" custies to open their wallets a bit when they come in - we girls can start by not paying any attention to the non-tippers. Don't sit with a guy for half an hour if he's not buying dances or at least slipping you a $20 every few minutes. And don't go back to talk to anyone who turns you down for a dance the first time - most likely he's just a shithead and wasting your time. Also I the alot of girls kinda encourage bad clubs to continue with poor business practices and cheap custies to keep avoding spending, by continuing to work in crappy clubs and spending free time with cheapasses. Vote with your feet girls!

I'm late to this thread so I'm posting my responses to all the bits that I wanted to respond to......

I know you dont like to hear it MissB,but facts are facts.
In most clubs in this country,a guy can pay the cover, come in and have a drink and watch the show,he isnt required to tip,he isnt required to get a lapdance.
It isn't just America, Australia as well. Goodness, I was one of those customers at one time (for around an hour) when I visited Crazy Horse in Adelaide... that just makes the person a PATRON/PUNTER not a customer. That is what makes the difference between a patron/punter and customer -- a customer spends on the entertainers/dancers as well as the club itself (ie drinks).
;)

Most customers do not understand that in most cases you ladies actually PAY IN to the house to work there.
This one is most true... how many times I have "educated" the general public (even in Kalgoorlie where I was a Skimpy not a stripper) that strippers pay to work in a strip club I have lost count. It is a serious misconception the general public has.. alot think that the clubs pay us to be there.. that we aren't "in business for ourselves" (self-employed/independant contractors).
Another misconception is that, not only are we paid hourly, we receive a portion of the door/entry fee that they paid.
*sigh* These misconceptions exist and will continue to exist as, it has already been mentioned, clubs don't really 'push' the patrons to tip the dancers (at the very least). It is always up to the dancers to mention the 'unwritten rules' to the patrons.

Do you think it's ok for people to go to a restaurant to eat and NOT tip the waiter?
Well, here in Australia tips are generally not customary. They are really not expected. This is definately an "American-ism"... hence the reason why alot of the population in Australia aren't used to tipping. The other down-side to the reason why alot of patron in a SC here won't tip is due to the fact that the lowest "note" of money is $5... and that can be ALOT of money to spend just tipping a dancer on stage (to alot of people).
Our $1 and $2 are coins... and I don't really know any dancers who accept coins on stage. Plus only a few 'smart' strip clubs here have their own money which patrons can buy in $1 or $2 denominations making it easier for them to tip a multitude of dancers.

some guys think you get paid by the club...I dont know where they got that idea
I know that people think dancers are paid hourly due to the fact that the majority of people who work are paid hourly.. paid a wage. They just think because everyone else working in the club is paid as an employee (hourly and/or wage).. that the dancers are as well. They only realise the error in their thinking when someone "educates" them.
Plus it isn't dim-witted... just a rampant misconception that the majority of "mainstream" society has about strippers. They don't realise that we work on a commission type of system. They think the clubs pay us even if we don't sell a dance or receive any tips.
I'm also thinking this misconception is probably thanks to the fact that there used to be clubs (at least in this country) which did pay the dancers a set amount of $$$ each night they worked.

I dont' know many clubs that allow a person to come in and sit there, soak up all the "ambience" and not purchase a drink, at the very least.
Things might have changed since I was there.... however I can readily think of one club that made it hell for all the dancers for most of November due to all the "Schoolies" paying the cover.. and just the cover.. then standing around taking up all the seats and space... and watching. This is also the club that requires compulsory full nude on stage by the last song. Really really hope it has changed there for the dancers' sakes.
Granted, it is the exception not the rule. I've worked in many full nude establishments which will only allow you to go nude on stage if you are tipped, some only allow topless even if tipped, others allow it to be up to the dancer to go nude without tips or not.. and others yet again only allow the feature dancers to do nude on stage when everyone else must be topless.

Even if your club does have a stage tipping requirement, then, even though it exists, you can't be mad at customers for not doing so if they don't KNOW about it.
True sooooo true! I remember when I used to work in the (small!) club in Rockhampton where we aren't allowed to even be topless unless someone sits stage-side and tips us $10 minimum.... we went thru nearly two whole rotations of dancers without a single one of us taking a thing off on stage before one of us was finally tipped! I think then.. and only then.. people started to realise they had to "pay to play".
I'm never mad at them automatically now. I explain the ettiquette and hopefully "educate" them a little bit... and only after this if they continue to not "play the game" does one have the right to call that patron cheap.
Re: Guys Who STARE...and Don't Get Dances! WTF!?!??!
I used to spend so much energy being angry at the cheap asses not tipping on stage and staring. I finally realized that when you focus on the broke asses not tipping you usually your attitude/facial expressions show your angry vibe . I think of that $1000.00 man in the corner observing your body language and how you interact with the crowd that is deciding if he wants your company based on how he perceives your attitude . Usually stage tippers get a few dances (not complaining one bit) . However that evil eye you give the non tipper may run off the wales watching you from a distance because of the pissy look you may have on your face or you look irritated. . They are in the club to have a good time and due to your bitchy look they will not want to spend $$$$ on you. Scrubs are not worth ruining my money or night. Stage is simply a billboard for everyone.
