Re: How to maintain a tan???
Really, I think you only need to go to a tanning salon twice a month, a.k.a. every two weeks. After you get home, lather on a bunch of lotion with aloe in it, which helps to seal in the tan, softens your skin and prevents it from peeling. :)
Re: How to maintain a tan???
I tan weekly and use lots of lotion to keep my skin hydrated..... make sure you use good lotions when you tan, trust me I see a difference.
Re: How to maintain a tan???
Just go out in the sun with a low SPF sunscreen and a hat. Sweat has an SPF 4 factor. You need sunlight for your health. It also makes you eat less. The skin cancer warnings are for people who tan in beds frequently or get way too much sun.
Why pay for self-tanner & beds unless you have super-sensitive skin?
Re: How to maintain a tan???
i usually go to the tanning bed twice a week and or mix it up with some non orangy tanning lotion -- it works for me.
Re: How to maintain a tan???
Tanning lotion.. Goddess and Siren are the ones I use. Use two, each different and I go to the salon three times a week.. sometimes less if I'm really busy. Never tan naked, a burnt cookie is NOT fun. Lotion, lotion lotion after. If I could I would soak in it. Use the eye cups - religiously.
If you CAN NOT get to a tanning bed, try a bronzer, it'll keep your tan fresh looking till you can get to a salon. Remember to take your makeup off before you tan - that two tone look is defiantly NOT in style.
Happy, safe tanning!

Re: How to maintain a tan???
I work in a tanning salon as my 'other' part-time job, hehe. So here are my tips: First off, it depends on if you want to actually tan in tanning beds or not, some people are against it. But if you do, since you already have good color, you really need to only tan once or twice a week with a good lotion to maintain your color. If you want to be darker, then tan more at first, then less when you've reached what you like. I pretty much tan only once a week, but I use good lotions and bronzers and keep my skin hydrated all the time. I also don't even tan for the entire 20 minutesl, usually just 12-15 to save my skin. Second option is use a self tanner- but not the ugly orange kind. I've heard great things about the new Jergens Natural Glow moisturizers. They build subtle color. I am going to run out and buy one as soon as I can to try it! The last thing that I can reccomend is a spray tan. At my tanning salon, we use Mystic Tan booths. I am addicted now! I love it when I want an extra dark look for the weekend or whatever. And if anyone has any questions about Mystic, feel free to ask me! I know all the tips. Ok, so thats my advice! Stay beatifully bronzed but be safe about it!
