Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
Hi! It has been a week since my breast augmentation and I am considering going back to work soon. I am still so sore and probably will be for a while. My question is did anybody go back to work shortly after your breast augmentation? How long after your surgery? Was it difficult to dance with sore boobs?
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
Not sure if this helps much but I knew a girl who got her boobs and 2 weeks later she was back to work. She said that she was pretty much completely healed and her boobs (about a year later when she had told me) looked great.
I dunno - but I think the extra time off would give some sort of assurance to make sure youve healed properly. I wouldnt want anything bad to happen. eep!

Hi,Jessica! Is this your first BA?Are you still in pain? After my first 11 yrs ago I was in bed for a month, went from 34 b to d (525cc),started dancing about 2 months after surgery. After my second one, last november (675,700cc) I was back to work 8 days after surgery, and only took pain killers for 2 days.I had to run to the bathroom after every dance and put neosporin on my fresh scars.I think it depends from person to person. But be sure that you have completely healed before going to work. One of my girlfriends didn't wait long enough and got a bad infection, which was very hard to treat.
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
i knew somene that worked 8 days after her second BA... the guys at her parties couldnt believe they were so new... they looked great... i think if its your first, its harder, but if you feel up to it, put some liquid bandages on your incisions and cover them up (if need be) and you should be good to go, its all about hwo you feel
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
That liquid bandage hurts like a bugger on a paper cut don't know if I'd put it on boobs!!!!
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I dont think its a great idea. This is one thing that dancers tend to do.. not save enough money to stay out of work for a good 4-6 weeks. Theres a 50/50 chance of ruining the BA. Ive seen girls go back after a week and look great and boobs look great. Recently a girl came back after 2 weeks... ruined her boob job and they now look horrible. She tried to get the doctor to fix them but he wouldnt. It was her choice and by going back to work she ruined the pocket he made, it didnt heal all the way and the implants fell about 3 inches leaving the scar (which was under the boob) right on top of her boob and her nips now point at the ceiling. Personally (having had a BA) I wouldnt risk going back to work so soon and taking that chance. But the choice is entirely up to you. Id say if you have the means to stay home a few more weeks then stay... work and the money will still be there when your all healed :)
Good luck hun!
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I went back after 3 weeks. I really needed to get back to work for financial reasons. If you're able to stay home for a while longer than do so. But if you must get back to work soon, then be sure to wear clothing that support your new boobs.
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
she didnt say the liquid bandages hurt at all, and i put them on her...
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I took two weeks. I didn't grab the pole & I danced a lot slower. I felt jolts of little pain at times. Just make sure you are very careful dancing. ;)
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
dancing within 3-4 weeks of a first BA is NOT a good idea !
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I took 2 weeks off, just don't do anything crazy (pole tricks, letting people grab them, etc.). If its considered aerobic, you shouldn't be doing it! Discuss it with your surgeon before hand and he will tell you what he thinks.
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
i took a month off, i REALLY needed that month to heal. I REALLY wouldn't suggest that you go back any sooner.
btw, congrats on the new chest!
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
it is a very delicate time post op so be careful. i started about 2 mos. post. there are alot of things that can get screwed up.
i will say about 2 weeks post op my neighbors cat got under my hood and i found him in the parking lot of a store. he had been riding under there for 2 hrs ! anyway , i chased him thru the parking lot and went under a car, raised my arms, etc. i was VERY worried i'd screwed something up but i didn't.
be careful !
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I went back at my two week mark and I feel fine I asked my doctor he was ok with it I think it depends on you, your body and the advice of your doctor
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I know a girl that went back after one week. Her breasts settled fine. I dunno.
Re: Anybody work right away after breast augmentation?
I'm not a dancer, but I went back to work 3 weeks after my BA as a server in a fast paced resturaunt. I got clearance from my doctor to do so, because I seemed to recover quite quickly from it.
I would say to ask your doctor when the appropriate time to go back for YOU is. I spent near $7000 on my BA and wasn't going to risk messing that up! ;D
