You dance to "Hotel California"? Really? :O
I wouldn't have thought of that as a decent strip song at all. I guess I like the stuff with more "beat" to it... I just made my bf (who is a DJ, though not at a strip club) a list of songs to burn onto a strip CD for me - he calls the CD "Take It Off." He's still working on it and adding some of his own. I'll post the song list once he's done. I did notice that "Sweet Home Alabama" is on there, which seems a little different. I've never heard it in a strip club.
The Passenger-Michael Hutchence..Is This Real-Lisa hall..Couting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rythymn Of The War Drums-Perfect Circle
I have a HUGE list of faves, but maybe momma I'm comin home by ozzie, or only god knows why by kid rock, I'm into the slow jams
I personally love to dance to Rage Against The Machine. It never fails to make me money on the weekends. In my opinion, the best Rage set to do is "BombTrack" first and then "Killing in the Name Of" or "Bulls On Parade".
Also, I only recommend dancing to this if you've got high energy. Just walking around "being cutesy" is not going to work with this.
Oooooo... I love that Michael Hutchens song!!!! I've usually play a lot of older stuff since people generally leave it alone...
Right now... Move It like This (alternative mix)by K7... Halftime YinYangTwins, I also like that cheeseburger song... Satisfaction, but I can't remeber who does it
"Ill be your other man" by trick daddy is my favorite. Also depends on type and size of crowd. What city, too. Like where I am, now, is all young guys and I dont think anybody would tip me if I played 80's.
the judith renholder remix by a perfect circle, the dj trashy remix of 'i wear my sunglasses at night', and the dj keoke sex remix for go speed racer. those three really get me going. i'm really a death metal kind of girl but when i hit the stage i want something with a good flow that i can play with.
I love dancing to hotel california.Quote:

lately ive really been feeling tainted love by the eurythmics
weezer. say it ain't so.
Am I admitting to being a giant cheeseball if I say that hair metal does it for me, for some silly reason? I honestly never listened to it on purpose before. I love what's now being called 'classic' alternative, industrial, new wave, etc., but expect for the industrial-tinged stuff (crowd pleasers like Zombie, Marilyn Manson and NIN - I like it too, so everyone's happy there), what I like offstage is totally different on. Case in point: I adore New Order, but hearing the original "Blue Monday" onstage usually kills the crowd's mood, and brings my energy down. But the Orgy version - that kicks ass onstage even though I'm not crazy about it offstage . . . But I digress.
Anyway, yeah, the metal. I got the ultimate cliche while I was up the other night: "Pour Some Sugar On Me". To my total surprise, I had a blast. Guns-N-Roses? Hated them before, now I can't get enough of them in the club. But my all time fave so far: "Enter Sandman". I become a woman possessed.
I much prefer the original "Blue Monday" as well.
"Enter Sandman" is one of those songs that never gets old, it's that good.
"Pour Some Sugar"-- for me it has to be the right girl onstage, or I don't like playing it--especially as I like to say "She don't need no sugar...she's so sweet, she's got honey flowing in those veins." Atrocious, vile grammar--but it works in the setting I'm in, where "She doesn't need any sugar..." would sound lame. But the dancer really has to be sweet, lol.
When I first started stripclub DJing, I refused to play Guns n' Roses, since Axel is a known woman-beater, but I have learned to like the music, even if he is a scumbag. Now i play certain of their songs on a regular basis, especially "Welcome to the Jungle". It fits my club to a T...
I have to admit that I am a complete stipper cliche. If I am having a high energy kind of night, I have a three song set of "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Bad to the Bone", and "Slice of Your Pie" (Pie by Motley Crue, of course).
Yay, I'm not alone! I'm sure there are thousands of strippers - and DJs - who swear they will absolutely SNAP once and for all if they hear, say, "Cherry Pie" one more time, but hell, I'm a newbie. The novelty hasn't worn off yet. ;D Interesting that the persona I've created has turned out to be very different than the real me - so it's all very fitting that the music that "Rose" likes is a bit different than what *I* tend to like.
Cherry - I'm totally getting "Slice of Your Pie" from iTunes! Thanks for the idea!
"Sticky Sweet" off the same Motley cd is a good tune, too.
i like bleed like me by garbage....closer by nine inch nails.... I also like black hole sun.
I usually went for a song though thats a little slower and I can make lots of eye contact to the tippers.... I wish I was still dancing.... Now I just dance all by myself on my pole in my apartment... Its just not the same...
