Guess you'll have two sorts of customers in any venue you work - casual visitors and those who come in regularly.
The casual visitors will not have seen you before, and thus your routine will appear fresh and new to them.
As to the regular visitors - one dancer made an interesting remark to me recently. She said that every dancer has "signature" moves that she uses when she works. Watch your co-workers and you see she's right. It could be that you feel you're in a rut, while regular tippers tip you because they like watching your "signature" moves.
Think carefully about your dancing: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If you do want to change things, then you've got two options. Firstly, most dancers use a limited number of tracks to perform to - have you considered a different choice of music?
Secondly, most dancers have a pace they're happy dancing to - some prefer fast music, some slow. Have you considered changing the pace of your dancing?
Phil.
Perhaps it's a good time to do something different. If you feel as though your routine is in a rut, it's going to reflect that way to your customers, new and old. When you aren't having fun, and think that your work is boring, it's going to project that way to your audience and if you are just now recognizing it now, you've probably been hurting your sales for a while already.
So the question is, what can you do differently to make this fun again? Have you thought about doing some sort of a feature act? Perhaps some unique music, costumes, stage props, etc.? How open is your club to this?
Change up your music and costume style.. give yourself a new look.. ;)
Yeah, it doesn't take anything really drastic to give you some freshness and get you into it again. Agreed with Yea, those simple changes can work wonders.
Also, simply watching other girls to incorporate some new moves helps. I've danced 10 years and I still watch other girls for new and new-old ideas. Take something someone else does and vary it to your own style.
