I detest sitting with customers until they've spent a certain amount of money.
When I approach a customer, I am offered a seat and a drink, both of which I do not want. Many customers turn out to be duds looking for free conversation. When I am with the nonspenders, I am missing opportunities to make real money.
Also, if I sit down, a waitress will appear and I must accept a mandatory drink that will take me about 10 minutes to finish (or look like I've finished). I order water. When I sit and drink, I spend more time peeing than I do working. Plus, my stomach becomes distended. Skinny dancer with a big stomach: Not attractive.
When offered to sit and drink, I usually say, "I was passing your way. You look like a fun/nice/cute man, and I knew I'd want to dance for you." I stand when I talk to them, using a hand on their should for balance when I lean in. Is this good proxemics and kinesics?
What do you women do with the mandatory drink situations? What do you men think about it?
