I pulled a doubleshift from 1:30 to 2 in the morning and I only made $700, I was so pissed....I pulled doubleshifts before and I made a lot more than this time...is it actually worth spending so much time at the club for that kind of money???

i'd be happy, i mean you have to put that money into perspective. what other job could you work where you would make that in one day?
You're right because I don't believe that there are many other jobs, no matter how much education you have that would pay $700 a day, it's just that business has failed so much because I used to make a lot more pulling double shifts, and I used to work double shifts at least 3 days a week because the money was so good, I made about $1200 a day. Now that I don't make that much a day I wonder if it's worth working 13 or 14 hours a day for $700...
just think of this ...imagine....making $10 an hour and workin those hours!!!!! Now, that would suck...........so dont get down on urself....b thankful....
Maybe don't work the double shifts anymore if they're not lucrative enough.... cut back your hours and conserve your energy so that you can make $700 in 5 hours instead... ?? Maybe only do the double shift once a week instead of 3 times a week... or even once a fortnight. You don't want to burn yourself out too much... then again, you maybe like some dancers I have known... and you're a workaholic.. therefore the double shifts do you good in other ways as it makes you feel productive.
In the end, I don't ever look at how many 'hours' I had to put in to reach my totals... as long as I make my weekly goals (or close to them) I'm happy.
It really depends on what makes you happy ... does having hourly, nightly and/or weekly aims keep you positive and motivated... ???
I know I personally would be happy with $700 no matter how long it took me to make it however that is me... I'm not you.
In my civilian job, (and mostly in my town.) there are only part time retail jobs and the like available. I earn $500 CAD MONTH (and that's Canadian dollars, folks.) When I worked full time, at a coffee shop, hustling and sweating in a nasty uniform, I cleared $900 a month.
And so, I would be quite happy with working one double shift to earn what I earn all month. :)
Scheduled to start dancing next weekend. You'll be hearing all about it :)

When I work a really long shift like that, I'll go have a dinner break from like 6-8. It like recharging my battery. I'll come back and there will be different guys and different girls...feel like a different day. Helps my hustle.
I'm not going to tell you to be grateful - but 350 a shift, although not fantastic, like wow, this'll change my life, doesn't suck. I'd be happy with that.
I would NOT be happy with that. Way too many hours for that kinda money. Even in slow times I wouldn't be happy with that. I'm a little disappointed with $600 in 8 hours, even tho I know it's summer and biz is slow...
Work three hours per night, usually pull in $300 to $400 per shift.
At this rate, six hours would be $600 to $800 per shift.
Compare this to what you all are getting.
I am satisfied with mine. Buisness ain't been this good in a while, hope it lasts longer.
Some 13 hrs of dancing yea I would be pissed too....*sigh*
How prepared were you in working this double? Did you decide to work a double at the last minute? Which ever way you could bring extra food and mentally prepare with some set goals before to start on a 13hr shift.
Bridgette a long dinner sounds really good...to embark on a new shift the same day.
Ramona-
I wish you all the luck in the world. I think you are making the right choice!!!
I'm new and I have been breaking little over 200 a night, and I thought that was good..... :/
maybe its your attitude ;)
oops...did i say that out loud?! hehe
sorry, but im gonna be the one to be the bitch and say it like it is..... if you have an attitude that says " fuck im disapointed, i only made $700 in 11 hours" no wonder you didnt make more. fucking hell girl!!! with an attitude like that, youd be lucky to get a kick in the ass from any customers down here.
the words "prima donna" come to mind......
if that money isnt "good enough" for you, dont work that many hours!
My question is, do you feel cheated?
And is so, why?
If you feel you truly put in the time and effort, and the management done you wrong,
I would leave and go some place else.
On my account, I work five to six hour a night, and by the time my shift is over, I am dead tired. There is no way I could work no 11 hours straight.
The only way I could last 11 hours is just to lounge around and do nothing all night.
But if I do nothing, I also get nothing.
There is something here that does not add up.
Either the buisiness was slow or slowed down, customers stopped coming, or you just did not get out there and hustled enough.
Hey, I am sorry, but I really don't know enough about your situation.
You have my sympathy, but some times, things don't ever work out like we want them to.
It's just tough, I know. Good luck.
If my math is right (a dangerous assumption) that's $56 an hour, net. Don't know anywhere you can make that an hour. There's always times that girls will come in and work double shifts and stuff. What I've noticed is that since they plan on being there for hours and hours, they don't hustle as much. That's why I've found long/double shifts to be a case of dimishing returns.
I'd be happy with clearing $700 a day. I work from five to seven days a week, from six to eighteen hours - $3500 to $4900 a week - call it $4,000 average - two weeks off during the year - $200,000 on a yearly basis. Yeah. I'd be happy with that.
Now, I realize that I'm going to work like I do till I retire, and the dancing career is much shorter, and there's all kinds of other considerations. But I'd be happy with that.
I am an entertainer, I give my %100 when I'm at work...Everytime I go on stage I dance like my life depends on it, no matter how many and what kind of people are in the club watching me. I don't take my personal problems into the club, when I work, I work with a smile on my face at all times. I just thought that for 13 hours of work, I should have been able to make more money. Sometimes I average $700 working from 7 pm till 2 am, half of the time I spend pulling a doubleshift. I know that $700 is not a bad amount of money, I used to work a minimum wage job, I know how much $700 means. Well, I hope business picks up...Thanks to all of you for your opinions...
What day did you work your double? I find that in Houston, the mid-week earnings are best. Weekends are so full of punks that drain all a girl's energy. I wouldn't recommend working doubles unless there is some special event in town. Just arrive earlier, like by 5pm, for the happy hour crowd. You'll be less tired by 10pm, when money sometimes starts rolling in.
it's all relative. for me 700 dollars would be an amazing number for a double shift. i don't make that much in a week since i work bikini in tampa during the day. what i make is mostly fine for me though.
Yes it is, it is real good money. Unless you are greedy.Quote:

$700 for a double shift is good. I have worked double shifts in Houston before and made $200, even under $100.
$700 is GREAT money no matter how many hours it takes to make it. A club does not always have a full house of customers from opening to closing. Many times there are more dancers than customers. The clientele is not always the big spending type every day, is it?
You have to accept the good with the bad in sales and we are in sales. At least you were able to work a double shift. I work 7-9 hour shifts 5-6 days on weeks I work. A dancer must be willing to work as much as it takes to make money in this business, and stop turning her nose up at slow days.
Dancing is just like any mainstream job. Girls have to put in the hours and be more patient to maximize earnings.
I usually find out that I make what I would have made in one shift when I double.
Reading through everybody's comments here, I don't see a basis for a complaint.
$700 is good money, even though you had to work 12 hours to get it.
You should be glad that the economy is strong enough to give you those earnings.
With the current trends, I seriously doubt if you could match these earnings in the future.
If I were you, I would put the money into some good tangible investment.
That is what you should be worried about. Not whether you feel like you got cheated.
Excellent advice.Quote:
