Sweetie you'll be surprised how many of us are in school (4 yr) or in a graduate program. Do a search, you'll find lots of threads.
A LOT of us are "retired" now.... but when i was dancing, i was a sophomore at Arizona State. A LOT of the dancers at Tiffany's (now Christie's) were ASU students. The bouncer (who got me my job - and is now my husband!!!) had just graduated and was taking a year off before law school
I'm finishing up Undergrad at WVU along with my husband. We will both be starting grad school in the near future. :-) I agree with the others on this, you will find that a lot of us are in school. :-)
Yup! I'm in University and the only thing thats hard is trying to pick which night of the weekend I want to go "work" instead of going out with my friends! Also, you have to find the right balance of school, work, and friends. It's best if you save your money so you don't have to spend your night working when you could be home studying instead.
I'm in school, too. I take classes online, though (and I'm not a dancer, but oh well). *Sigh* I love "going" to school in my pj's!
I graduated from Cornell with my BS in math, minor cert. in Chem. I tried to do ChE, but did horribly with the courses. I aced all math, got a D in all the chem, and was all over the board in the engineering courses. I'm now trying to do an online cert. program at UC Berkeley to create an alternate transcript for b-school. I want to switch and start an mba program within the next few yrs.
I didn't start stripping until the end of my senior yr, though. Too many implications w/ the frat boys, divorce agreements (tax law), and finaid (based on income tax returns). Also, dancing in upstate ny isn't as profitable as elsewhere.
I will be heading back to school for my Masters of Social Work within the next year so I plan to keep dancing so I can save money for tuition. It is WAYYYY expensive at the U of M masters program. How they expect students to payback all this college is assinine. If I didn't dance for extra money there is no way I could afford to finish my masters on a social workers salary. Shit it would be hard even with my salary in the financial world. I already have paid $20,000 for my Bachelors, so after going 4 years in a masters program I would have paid like $100,000 in education debt. It is sick that a master's level entry job in Social Work doesn't hardly start out at $40,000 a year.
Hello Hello lovelies. First of all, I love this site! So many beautiful ladies with lots of advice. So, I am really curious about stripping, I went to the strip club for the first time ever in my life and got hired that same night, in fact they wanted me to start that night but I chickened out. The owner was so nice to me that it seemed unreal. However I am scared of going back because the club is so close to my University, and I did notice a lot of college kids in the club. My question is how do you or did you ladies deal with the prospect of seeing a professor or your classmate in the club. my school is fairly large in size, but being one of the few black girls makes stand out profusely, not to mention I would be the only black girl in the club if I did decide to work there. I am so scared of anyone finding out and developing a reputation. I would like to hear the experiences of university students who did decide to take on stripping. :-*
Yep, I am in my third year of college... but I learn a lot more on my weekends at the strip club than in the classrooms!! 8)
i used to sneak off from law school in the holidays to strip overseas... that way noone would ever try to use against me when i went to get admitted.
i would be very careful about picking a club really near to school. i doubt very much a prof would declare, 'hey! great titties last night'... but you never know who is going to be a prat about it... or use it against you. >:(
besides - the young boys are generally out for shits and giggles rather than laying down any serious tuition payments for you ;) . is there a good club outside of the school area?
you should probably decide whether you are "a stripper and proud of it" - in which case, fuck 'em and you strip where you want, or whether your secret alter ego is a stripper on the sly.
if protecting yourself from bullshit is paramount then avoid the nearby strip club.
In grad school overseas; danced during the last part of undergrad....in a city nearly 2hr away from my university city! Have also danced during school vacations, and took a year off between undergrad and grad to dance. Now live a stone's throw from 2 great clubs in France but too timid and busy....
I'm in school also. Major in biology. :sly:
Yeah, Univeristy of California here (not going to say which one because of privacy). Double major in history and political science. I'm in my last year, I think . . .
Yeah im finishing up my major in International Relations...partly in Spain this summer...just becareful when i first started dancing i didnt balance it with school or set limits and i almost failed my soph year...its hard as fuck to bring up a bad gpa...dont be like me!!!
^^I agree. I've been dancing this school year long, and work $$ is addictive, so beware burn out. Keep up with those readings! But I've always been hopeless with time management. My marks haven't gone down, but my stress has certainly gone up.
Yup, going to a Cal State school... majoring in psychology. It's my final year but I'll be going back for two more. I plan to teach special education. Oh yea... and I tooootttaallyyyy agree with mollyzmoons! I fell into that a bit last semester. :(
Yep, degree in business and still dancing. I started freshman year during January term and just kept on going.
Ut Austin here. Studying Government and Russian.
Do you guys ever feel more like strippers than students? Somehow I feel a little isolated from the rest of campus because of work, like I don't want to talk to people because they might ask about work and I hate to lie. Originally I started dancing to get through school and didn't consider myself a "stripper" just temporarily working through school. Weird how perspectives can change.
I'm in my third year of school in Wisconsin, with a double major in psych and human development, with a minor in political science. I should be graduating May 2007.

I believe the piece of mind I'll get will be worth the commute. About going overseas during holidays, that sounds like so much fun and summer is coming up, and I have always wanted to go to the carribean, hmm, u guys are giving me some great ideas
I'm in my last year of a master's program in Biology, and I just started stripping. I wish I had thought of stripping sooner, but it didn't even occur to me until recently. I'm dancing at a club about 45 minutes from my school-hopefully that's far enough away that I won't run into people I know!
I'm in college double majoring in English and Biology. I'm Probably going to go to medical school.
