stressed out about work before work killing hustle
does anyone ever feel so stressed out about owing money to the club that it kills their hustle? i go into work feeling as though i'm in debt since technically, i am. i OWE them money and have not made anything. what if the club is not crowded? what if i don't get any dances? i know, i should just GO DO IT. but sometimes it's not that simple. the other night i didn't make PAYOUT until almost eleven. also, if you don't make payout it is carried over to the next night. i'm really afraid that i'll come across as desperate to customers, and i will come across as having an overall bad attitude since i'm so worried about just paying payout back.

Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
Alot of times I go into work with that same problem. I haven't had a day when I leftowing money yet, but I'm scared that day will happen and how I'll handle it. Unfortunately I can't think of any way to solve the problem. I'm scared that if I take time off I'll bestressing out over all the money I could've been making.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
Let's say I work Wednesday. After work, I take out my house fee for the next day. I repeat the same process every single time. This saves me the stress of seeing the money I'd just made & then seeing it go away to the house fee.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
I agree with Amity, it's easier to show up to work with it than it is to try to count on it. I danced a few times with a girl that left every night owing the club money. HOW? I think she had a problem doing "Gold rooms" (VIP) and since all her money came from her stages she didn't make much. One night she needed a ride home because she hadn't even made enough for cab fare or her stage fee? :O I think she had to keep working there because she kept owing them money. She finally quit dancing and is cocktailing now.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
I'm very new to dancing, so this is advice from a newbie stripper. I've been bringing my house fees and tip-outs with me to work just in case. I feel a bit better doing that. It IS stressful. So far so good though. One night I had made only $15 over my house fees and tipout just before 1am. Then I met an attorney, whom i sold a couple of dances to plus two VIP sessions. He made my night. So... i get to the point where i tell myself, ok just hustle, just hustle. ask everyone. there is SOMEONE here that will buy a dance. or a VIP session, and I dont know until I ask. just do it. There's a whale in here somewhere. or even ONE person or TWO people who i can sell a dance to. And so far i've made my money in the last hour a couple of times because i didn't give up. I've not left with less than $100 so far. There are a few girls that i've overheard complaining as they're packing up their dance bag at 11pm that they've only made $15 or so. o......k. I say the night isn't over until it's over. I empathise (sp?) with you though. Sometimes it helps me to make myself go grab a chair in the dressing room away from other girls and regroup myself, put up my feet, and rest and refresh my body and my mind. Then i look at my watch, tell myself it's hustle time, and just do it. You can't be in control of everything, but you can always hustle in spite of a slow night, in spite of yourself sometimes. You CAN find a whale or even one more guy even when it's down to the line. Try thinking this way. I mean all of this above all as encouragement to you. Hope this helps.
wishing you energy, luck, and hope!! keep at it, girl.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
Sometimes its good to hustle in short times. Say 30min of hustling 5min off. If you dont get one in 30min have a 5min break...read a magazine, touch up your makeup, clean your shoes...wtvr to take your mind off for a sec. Then go back that way youre not out there for hours (doubt it would be hours before a LD) so you can look forward to your reward of 5min rest.
I know how you feel though..been there too. Bringing your house fee with you seems to help like the other poster said. Bring yourself good food to eat. I always look forward to lunch/dinner..if Im not busy.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
If I start to get worried during a slow time, I will allow myself a break of two songs in the dressing room. After two songs are over, I go back out and ask everyone again. EVERYONE. I used to "pre-screen" the customers I would ask, but I don't do that anymore, and I make loads more moeny.
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
Does your club give the option of paying out at the beginning of your shift?
I just worked my second night at a club and they charge 10 dollars more if girls don't pay out at the beginning of their shift (no one bothered to tell me that my first night :) ). It makes a lot of sense, though, because you get it out of the way and then you don't have to worry about it. Everything you make after that is totally yours
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
First off ..stop thinking about it and STOP WORRYING..Your only going to make it harder on yourself.............just forget about it for now and go to work and do not worry ok.........you'll make it have a little faith,ok :) go do something to take your mind off of your troubles and be happy...........it's all going to work out....believe!
Re: stressed out about work before work killing hustle
I used to work in a club where the tip out was anywhere from $80-100, I always felt anxious. Now at my club total tip out is round $25, saturdays and sundays there's no house also. I feel way more confortable. I make more money, just becouse I don't get all woried and depressed in my first few hrs.

*Hugs*
Oh, honey, you are totally not alone. This dilemma has plagued me from the beginning :'( , and I've been dancing 3 years.
I agree with everyone here about having it up front, that makes a world of difference. Also, don't measure yourself against what you make. Worrying about not making tip-out starts to turn into worrying about never being able to make decent money ever again, and what a bitch that is once it manifests :O .
I battle it everyday before work and it wouldn't matter if I walked with 10 grand the night before (, wouldn't that be nice) I'd still worry my fool head off.
