Re: Leaving my "home" club
It can be really upsetting to move to another club. Personally, I've never been totally confortable with the job itself. So even when I'm working at my home club I get anxiety about the situation.
But at least when it's my home club then I can go sit in my favorite corner and relax for a few minutes, or talk to the dancers I'm friendly with, or go look at my photos stuck up in my locker.
When you start at a new club you don't know the girls or the system or the rules, and it makes it harder to earn money.
I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to find a new local club. I've been saying this since last winter, but I'm more serious today than ever before. It'll suck at first but I think that in the end it will have been the right decision, for me at least.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
I can sympathize. I recently started dancing again at a club I danced at a few years ago. It's changed a lot, and in similar ways. No guns or drugs that I've seen, but there are extras going on everywhere, and if you won't let customers grab/lick/finger you, you have to HUSTLE to make money. I'm also thinking of changing clubs, but a little freaked out...more than one customer has told me that my current club is "tame" compared to the others in town.
Besides all the extracurriculars, it's a great club. Nicely kept, DJ's and management competent, other girls are great. But I just can't get comfortable with the level of contact.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
It's weird, the cycle of clubs. They go in and out of style in a blink. One year, a club will be the shit. The next year, it's a piece of shit. Be loyal to you and you only. Go where there is money.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
I worked in Indy about 5 years ago at Babes West and made decent money.
This business has changed everywhere, and guys want more than a dance for their money. More and more guys are not phased by "the tease".
Clubowners are responding to guys disinterest with being teased by allowing more "action" in private dance areas.
Plus clubs hire more dancers now, so that more housefees can make up for the slowdown in business. Having extra competition in an already tight club environment puts extra stress on all of us to make money, and the customers feel it too.
Having several nights of under $100 earnings is common everywhere nowadays. On the nights where money potential is better on has to hustle harder to compensate for the slow times.
Hang in there.;)
Re: Leaving my "home" club
good luck at the red garter!!!!!!!! ;)
Re: Leaving my "home" club
Beware...I too live in Indy and worked there 1 nite many moons ago, there was a reason I did not return...check it out first...I just recieved a note from some gal telling me the "hot" clubs (in Indy ) right now are 'Dancer's--trying to become more upscale, but tricky getting hired on...and PT's--notoriously high fees, for both dancers and custys alike..have worked at PT's and management changes and is strict, regardless. Ya'll know I work in the crazy Brass, but just love Don, Thelma(her sis Pat, Robin) Kenny and even the difficult Kevin--(daytime guys Scott & Rob are great, though never worked with them on shift)...it's a full contact club and girls can be from snotty to all out crazy-cool...Just a warning, many guys that find the way into the downtown area usually find their way to Brad's, NOT the garter...sorry, this is what I get from out-of-towners mouths...they call it something less than flattering; it too begins with the letter 'G' ...but everyone finds their 'nitch'--Despite I haven't always seen eye-to-eye with a few posts of yours, I sincerly suggest you SEE the place before you decide to stay. ;)
Re: Leaving my "home" club
Good Luck...I'm sure you'll find a better club in no time...lex
Re: Leaving my "home" club
Haven't always seen eye to eye with a few of my posts? okay. lol
I will not work at brads. I do not lke the stage set up at the gold club.
As far as the brass is concerned , I dont "feel" it. Im sick of the west side area as that's where im coming from.
As the garter is concerned. I perfer strict management. I perfer the midshift hours ..I also perfer NO TOUCH. This is the time of year that the garter makes money, conventions and games. I wont be staying forever .
And i hve been there, infact my best friend worked there for along time.
Dancers, I could go to. Again I want out of the west side area. Iv'e been told i have a job there if I want it. im just not sure that i do at this point.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
I know nothing of management at the RG...like I stated before, everyone's got thier own 'place' they like...I was there 3 years ago, when a friend of mine worked there, things may have changed, just as they always do ! Hee hee...so I meant no offense, truly. I used to work at a place that has new ownership (babes now owns, not Jan...;) ) I think you know where I am referring to...and that place CC, has gone downhill from what I hear from custys too (that makes me sad, 'cause I worked there for 4 years!) Soooo, needless to say, places change faster than (most peoples-lmao) underware! --Good luck regardless! Cool? :) --Justine
Re: Leaving my "home" club
I was told that cc was yah pretty friggin sad. Which yes does suck. I've never worked there., only went in once for drinks. I thought it was pretty cool set up. But a girl i know said the custys just sat around and looked bored.
I agree it is very sad since it's a nice place.
I'd like to hear why you didnt like the RG though. Opinions do count. At least to me.
Babes...god i couldnt handle it. But then again., I've been handeling my "home" club and girl that place is awful!! not only does the money suck but jesus the crowd is pathetic and dangerous.
Pt's btw no way. I've never had the desire to go there. Not because it's bad or anything., it just seems to big for me...too much going on
sorta why i dont want to go to dancers/
I likea smaller area so i can scope it from all angles.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
What has made CC suck lately? I Worked there for a week (4 nights) about 2 months ago, and I still made good money. (Maybe 'casue I was new, lol)
But I have heard that most of the clubs up there are changing, so who knows what's coming up next, lol!
Anyway Tart, if you wanna talk pm me, I have a question for you.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
Review 4 U...weren't you the one that PM'ed me? I don't know who you are, but you should perhaps be a critic instead of a dancer...no real offense intended...the advice was 'thoughtful' but you can come off a tad snooty--especially because I did not request any info on $$$ being made by various people...I do not EVER state exacts of how much I do/don't make.
Miss Tart, I just didn't care for the overall atmosphere at the RG...I did alright the evening I worked, but I am a busy gal and perhaps the stairs were also a bit much! LOL...plus there was a ton of attitude being thrown my way by other gals working there...one 'manager'--(I thought) yelled at me to "get on stage now"...while I was stepping onto the stage!!! HA! As I said before one of my friends worked there, so I went in with her...it could have been an off nite for the other 'regular' gals, but regardless it just wasn't for me.
And as an unsolicited 'review' --you neither have to patronize Brad's or dance there, so what's the beef? PS --there are cops there EVERY nite, so ask them what's up, okay.

I have one word: Rockhampton (refer to my Around Australia thread in Club Chat). It was THE club and you could BANK there one year... and the next year... it was sh*t! I havn't been back since and heard that it has only gotten worse to the point that it is up for sale... anyone got $2 million AUD handy?
Do not "marry" any club. It is NOT in your best interest in the long run. Always keep your options and mind open...... as sometimes what other dancers say about another club can be BS and that other club isn't as bad what those dancers at your home club are saying it is. It was because I listened to the dancers at my home club at the time that it prevented me from moving to a better club for months. When I did make the move finally, I realised what a fool I had been.. the move was for the better.
Re: Leaving my "home" club
I went to the RG last night. I didnt have to audition they just hired me
BUT let me say this. I had attitude BIG time from the girls. Its more a blank stare then anything else .
And yes the stairs. well at least my ass will go back where it started out at lol
Go look at it again maybe , I dig the lay out and it's just i dunno sexy or smething. i dig the lighting.
I didnt work last night. I simply came in and made sure i had a job. It just happens that they all ( mgmnt had been in rio a week prior and all went to my stage and remembered me)
Im going to hustle I can already tell taht there. It's going to be odd with the sort of air dancing no crotch to crotch contact etc.
Im glad to leave rio thatplace is fucking nasty. no more people touching the boobies
lets just hope i make like 600 tonight lol
