I'm working tonight, and its me 21st b-day. I figured I could probably make some good money given that. But I was wondering if any of you have worked on your birthdays and did it pay off for you?

It can work out well for you. Have the DJ let the crowd know on the mic. By the way Happy Birthday.
im shocked your not out celebrating with your girls!!! well i guess the night before you could have had a big celebration.... i'm sure though that you'll bank when people know its your 21st..... you can always go out and party another night and still have a blast even though its a day or two after.....
Happy B-day hunny. Umm I agree with Kamryn. Why don't you spend your b-day with your girls...THEN go to work tomorrow (Friday) and tell the MUCH BIGGER crowd how it's your birthday? That's even better right?!
Trust me, you really won't wanna be there babe. I spent my 21st birthday at work. I was working 3rd shift for a major corporation. It was depressing as all hell. All I have now is memories of myself celebrating alone in front of a comp.
Please...shit, for me go out and spend it with your girls?!
I think it could pay off, letting the crowd know via your dj is a great idea. Everyone knows that your 21st is supposed to be wild and fun so the customers will probably buy lots of dances and tip well, hopefully. But it could go the other way too, so don't depend on it to help you out. Happy Birthday! hope you get to go out and celebrate however you want!!
It depends on the Cheers factor in your club and the expectations of your friends in the real world. My ATF celebrated with friends and family the day before, then worked a double on her birthday. It's a well-managed club with a big Cheers factor. I brought in a birthday cake, paper plates and forks. The DJ played a happy birthday song between stage sets. Someone else brought flowers. Everyone got into it and had fun. She got to chat with lots of customers in a different context and did well. :)
I actually agree with the other girls... I am a HUGE advocate of working on your birthday... However, in your case... 21!!!! Hell no... Hang out with your friends tonight...
Where I work we often celebrate girls birthdays on different days. We will pitch in buy a cake... light a bunch of candles then all crowd around the stage and sing to her while shes naked.
Girls bank on their birthdays... Celebrate it tomorrow... ;) :beer2: :party2:
Happy Birthday!!! Have fun... Be Safe!!!!
I ALWAYS work my birthday.
I suggest dancers telling various customers a few days before the day arrives that you will be there to celebrate your B-day at the club. Try to get as many of them back in that day.
Tell the DJ it's your birthday. Tell your bouncers/floormen. Tell the bartender. Tell the manager. Tell the other girls. Most of these people will help you get birthday dancers and stage tips on top of your usual amount.
Birthdays are a great moneymaker.
With that said HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to Nicole84 !!!!!!
Wow, I wasnt expecting so much feedback, thanks ladies :) I've been telling customers for a while, and there is a big cheers factor at my club. The girls usually do something cool for the birthday girl. I'm going out tomorrow night, and saturday with friends to celebrate. I figured id save the real celebration for when i dont have school ay 9am the next morning, lol.
don't get carried out of a bar like i did on my 21st..... people will be buying you shots left and right.... i made the mistake of accepting all 21 of them.... i paid the price the next day. hahaa..
once I'd learned not to drink so much (KamrynAnne is aboslutely right) I always did well on my birthday. My regulars all tipped heavy and I usually got a lot better stage tips from the crowd.
I just bought some dances from a birthday girl the other night. Complaining about "old" we were getting was a nice conversation piece. The best part is that now that I know her better, I'm more inclined to buy more dances from her in the future. So don't be afraid to use it to your advantage.
Happy Birthday BTW. :)
I think all the girls deserve 2-3 birthdays per year, depending on how many you have on staff and how good you play it off.
I dont think you should do it every month, most regs last about 3-6 months average,so 2-3 per year should work.
Without a doubt,SOMEONE should be having a Bday,or a divorce is final day,or a got my degree day,or a whatever!!!!!
Make shit up!!!!Even my kid got an A day can work!!!
Someone is gonna hafta do it dammit,i need the bits on the mic!lololol
One thing is for sure, guys who are there and NOT celebrating anything, are real easy to hook into celebrating whatever you got going on,or not.<wink>
Its gives them a reason to celebrate.
Think about it ladies, how many guys,if asked as they walked into a strip club"do you want to help me celebrate my Birthday would say no??(unless it was your 65th Bday lol)
I think its actually in the top 10 penthouse letters fantasies of all time"Being with a stripper on her birthday" for men.
Just watch your drink intake, thats the first thing they will offer.
Every reg deserves a "Your Bday"night, real or not,and so do you, from each reg.
You just gotta figure out what your bday calender should be,results will vary, but yea, work your Birthday, the money is usually good.
^ Gotta agree with you here Mr. DJ :headphones:
I knew a diva little Asian dancer named Ginger, she was a fun/crazy thing who had a birthday every few months. We all just went with the flow and never let the custys in on it because they did spend more and not just on her. She'd buddy up with one of us girls in DR and we'd hit the bar saying
"shots for the birthday girl "
Next thing the nearest custy knew he would have a 2 girl VIP on his tab and a smile on his face !
That reminds me of a bouncer who gave a dancer a birthday card that said, "I'm giving you another grandma." In her first six months, she had already called out for the funerals of both of hers. ::)Quote:

I was thinking about working on my birthday this year, but mine is really close to Christmas...December 23rd. Do you think it's even worth it, or should I just say fuck it and stay home? I have a feeling we'll be really slow because of the holidays.
I used to work on or near my birthday, I worked a t a few clubs that really played it up. The one I'm at now doesnt really, so I dunno if I'm going to or not.

ROFL, Paige that's funny. My hubby's is the day after Christmas and he HATES it!
BUt he always gets that combo two-in-one x-mas/b-day present.
That's why we celebrate his b-day in June. We don't actually celebrate his b-day ; we celebrate his 1/2 b-day.
I say if it was any other b-day yeah work, but it is your 21st, you should live it up with your girls.
I don't hold birthdays too special anymore (have had a few now). I did a gig on my birthday last year. this year I was preparing for a photo shoot and was on all protein so i stayed at home grumpy (shoot was great the next day though).
Ok time out.......
If your an entertainer, its in the contract got dammit.
There is no such thing as a Birthday in Dec,Jan,or feb, till the regs cards are all paid off.
2 in 1 gifts for strippers????
are ya freekin kidding me???
Um no.
Not.
Nadda,
Change your birthday,or at least have one not so close to the gift giving season as well as the 2-4-1 holidays.
I love money more than anything else, so I worked on my b-day...and I always made a killing. ;) You can always party another night that you aren't working...you don't HAVE to party on your birthday.
I worked on my birthday last year.... and it looks like it is starting to become a tradition as I will also be working my birthday this year. Both times it was unintentional.
My problem is that my birthday is the day after Halloween *sigh* Thankfully Halloween isn't celebrated much here in Australia (as alot of Aussies have the mis-informed notion that it's an 'American' custom hence why should Australia endorse it) ... so I might still be able to make it work.
Granted, the cheers factor at the club I will be working within isn't that much... guess I will just carry my driver's license around with me betting with people that it is my birthday.. "If it is my actual birthday, you have to give me $100 and I'll give you a dance from the birthday girl!"
I did an amateur contest on my 21st birthday and won 1st place, which was $100, and got $140 in stage tips, and drunk as all hell. That was fun. You will definitely bank on your birthday, so work it.... or seeing as how your birthday was actually yesterday, this advice is null and void.
