Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
I think so too. So far, from what I've heard from the managers, they're warming up to me much more quickly than they have with the other moms. Could be because we're all the same age, could be because I'm short, a little chubby with very short hair and I'm not "competition", could be because most of these girls are just awesome. Whatever it is, I am glad. I'll give them the time they need so long as they don't treat me like crap.
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
Aleah, How did you manage to get that job? (If you don't mind me asking) I always wondered how you become a House Mom. Do you have to fill out an application? Or know someone who works there? And do you know if they are hiring for Cocktail Waitress? (I got an application a few months back, but I never brought it back because I chickend out) Please let me know.
Ta Ta ;D
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
The housemom at Fantasyland when I worked there didn't do much but make the schedule and keep people in line. She was a dancer too, so she had her other worries. At Columbus Gold, the main housemom is a SWEETHEART. She never danced, but her daughter does and got her into the biz. She always has almost everything we need, she listens to our problems, and makes sure we know what we need to know. She's more than willing to help girls with their hair, and she even mended my fishnets for me the other night. DUDE! I didn't know that could be done, but she showed me how.
All around, she just takes care of us and makes us feel good. But she doesn't baby us and she doesn't allow shit (but as far as I know, no one gives her any). We don't need to tip her because she's paid by the club, but if she does something really nice (like mending my freakin' thigh-highs), I tip her. I gave her $3 for that...wasn't sure how much to give, and since like I said she's paid by the club, I didn't think I should give her 10 for it...dunno..what's standard procedure for something like that?
Aleah, I think you'll be a great housemom, because you seem so friendly and prepared. I don't think many housemoms would consider extra thigh-highs and thongs or clean towels. Holy crap that's nice. But something I don't if it was mentioned, is disposable razors. I hated not having time to shave my underarms then forgetting a razor. lol!
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
I personally perfer clubs w/o house moms. When you dont use their stuff, they still expect tips, this is something I could do without.I know how to do my hair, makeup, dress and eat before I come in. I dont need a mom, especially where I strip. I know its nice to get tipped but when You dont use there services they seem like they could care less and still expect a tip. I dont like that they take up a whole big area in locker room that is cramped as is with all their stuff sprawled out,so you yourself cant even get ready!
Sorry if I offended but really loathe the house moms I met. Maybe you could be a good one.Maybe it would take a good experience to change my mind, but i dont think so.
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
Aleah you sound like an awesome house mom, I wish you lived in Vegas. (lol) I've seen the good and the bad mamas, most are good, I only had one really bad one.
I'm so glad to have a house mom, it's nice to have somebody taking care of me. I always am happy to see mama.
Keep up the good work "momming" and I am glad you are getting on so well with the girls!!
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
baby wipes...
I dont know if someone already mentioned them or not. But the girls at my club FREAK if there are no baby wipes. (again, get decent ones, not the dollar store brand)
Good Luck!
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
Everything has been on the up and up with the House Mom job. I've been bringing in extra smokes, red bull, icey water, fruits and veggies or whatever else I think they may want. It's getting better and initially, I was only supposed to work until Dec. 15th when my husband and I would move across the bay. I've decided to stay because the girls are great and this is the first job I look forward to going to. Wa-hooo!! *To Rare Package* I applied for makeup artist with the company and wound up being hired for that and house mom since they needed one. Every dancer I haven't talked with said all clubs should have one. If they're all kick ass like me (tee-hee!) I would have to agree.
Re: House Mom - What Does She do for You?
I would also make sure you have lots of medicines. Like tylenol, midol, asprin, bandaids, etc. Those always seem to be needed.
And as far as the tips go, do you have a tip bucket set up? If you don't why not put one of those out? I would think girls who haven't been tipping you, yet still have been using your stuff, would be a lot more likely to tip you if they come up to get something and see a big tip jar staring them in their face. A house mom at my old club had the same problem so we got her a tip jar and then boom, tips started coming in. And if you do have one, make sure not to leave in unattended very long with much money in it.
