Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Im new here, just want to say hi! Well I've been working in a massage parlor in Toronto, Canada, for nearly a year. On average I make $300 for a 6 hour shift. Occasionally, on good days I make $700-800. Its a pretty easy job, I only massage 3 to 5 clients, and the rest of the time I chill out with the girls. I'm just wondering if there is better or worse money working as a dancer, and do you have to hustle alot?

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
are they regular "erotic" massages or full contact sessions?
Are you paying taxes out of that, or is that take home
300/6=$50/hr which is a good "real job" money...not bad for any gig really
your're making 1500/wk
thats 6000/mo
72000 /yr
even paying 1/3 in taxes and such it's still over 40 grand take home.
not bad, if you're not giving up too much of yourself to get it
dancing can be hard...sounds harder than what you're doing

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
hmm, maybe I will be a dancer by night ;D and a massage therapist by day

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
What exactly do you massage?

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
I thought this was another one of those threads in re: strip club dancing and our incomes! I have been surprised.. it is not. I'm also curious as to what type of massage is done: sensual/erotic or 'service-ed' type of massage ???

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Massage parlour = rub n' tug.
-
Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Yes rub and tug. It is an aromatheraphy massage, which is you recieve a "holistic practioner lisense". Then you offer services to the customers such as a topless $40, nude $60, reverse $80 and bodyslide $100 bodyslide is the most you can give it and it just rubbing oil over the guys back and sliding yourself on top of him with you breasts (guys love it). All these prices are for half an hour, the prices double for 45 min, and 1 hour charges $200 for a bodyslide.
There are only a few places that allow girls to charge such prices, other places charge less but may however get more customers, the other place I used to work at I always made $400 a shift or more.
They have alot of these places in Toronto, but I dont know if they have them in the states.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
I learned something new! I don't think the US allows aromatherapy massages, not that I know of, at least.
MoneyLover, what is "reverse?" Regardless, I think you are making more money than most dancers in a legit profession. Many dancers I know rub their breasts on men's bare chests for 8 hours and all they get is $100/shift.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
$300-400 canadian sounds good to me...especially if you don't have to work that hard or feel weird the next day.
I've been to Canada a few times. It seems that even though stuff like marijuana use and prostitution are illegal, they don't really enforce it that much. I don't see why they would. There are more important issues.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Emily, prostitution IS legal in Canada....hosting clients (incall), however, is not. Therefore a working girl could not work for a brothel or from her home or use a hotel that she procured for herself. She must also not be conspicuous and solicit publicly(loitering, etc). The aromatherapy license probably affords some sort of protection for the company she works for to provide this sub-genre of adult services yet not be considered a brothel. Outside of the US there are different little restrictions in regards to prostitution laws but it is legal in nearly all of the free world (and even in the not-so-free countries) with certain constraints. (BTW,I learned this from www.worldsexguide.org.) And I believe marijuana for personal use is decriminalized in Canada in British Columbia only....but don't quote me on that one!

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
I say that's good money, period. Any job you do, no matter how many hours you work, anything over 200 dollars a day is good money, isn't it?

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
I have seen a lot of these massage ads on craigslist in nyc lately, and I heard its becoming popular. From what I have seen, they train you for an x amount of hours, and you are ready to go. They mostly care about your looks, not training. It's a nude or topless erotic massage, not full service, and I have seen places willing to pay from $65 to $160 an hour for this type of work, and I do think its much easier than stripping

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Before I started dancing, I considered rub n' tug (there are quite a few in Ottawa as well), but I thought they included hand jobs, which I'd rather not do.
Oh, and concerning earlier comments, yes prostitution is legal in Canada, but you'll be busted big time if the cops catch you doing it in the club...(we have cops frequent our club sometimes...haha, a bad sign?), but marijuana is really no issue. I think there is a case still in appeals which makes pot effectively decriminalized in Ontario (I smell it in my apartment building weekly, and basically every weekend walking downtown).

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
I would assume the "reverse" is when the customer gets to do a "body slide" on you???
-
Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
The "reverse" will most likely mean that the guy is NOT lying on his stomach. That's the logical thing... as most massage is done with the person (guy most likely) lying on a table on his stomach.
I say that if you don't feel ashamed about what you do now and make that type of money - keep with it. As long as you can sleep easy at night and think of the future.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
'Rub and Tug' will get your Massage Therapist license yanked here. I am a massage therapist and you would not believe the hoops you have to jump through to get a license in some of the cities in California. Yes ~ I said 'cities'. You have to be licensed in each individual city. Where I am licensed I had to get 5 letters from different individuals stating I am of 'high moral' character, get finger printed and a doctor's ok, along with 150hr of practical classes (the hours vary from city to city). We are still hoping for a state~wide license but so far no go.
Do tell how are things in Canada?

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
A Reverse is simply when a guy is allowed to touch you, you control how much touching is allowed. With a nude or topless massage no touching is allowed, so most guys will go for atleast the reverse. But I always try and convince each and every customer to go for the bodyslide, and thats really the most hustling I have to deal with ;D All I need to worry about is how many customers I get.
With some places the guy picks a massage attendent, with other places it's by turns, so its mostly about how good looking you are compared to other girls. Also you usually get a steady flow of regulars, because they usually come back for more, so you really try to get the cutomers to come back by giving a great massage and good experience, not much hustle as it is skill.
On the best nights, usually Fridays, if I'm doing mostly bodyslides I'll be making $800, and no hustle like I said.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
^^Sorry to be blunt, by I've always been curious. Could you tell me explicitly whether or not there are handjobs as part and parcel? If it's just rubbing a guy's back topless or nude, well...that's not much more than an Ontario lapdance, right?
-
Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Ok, my friend told me that it is totally customary that after the girl massages his back she says turn over and gives him a hand job. There is oil there for this reason.
Also, he is telling me that you can get oral or fs right then and there on the massage table.
So at a minimum, some of these places are doing more than slides. And I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about the legalities of the massage / aromatherapy parlours in Canada - these places get busted all the time and recently some newspaper reporters went undercover and tricked all these girls into offering sexual services. And a cop told me that they raid the parlours all the time, though he told me they were specifically looking for (and finding) underage girls.
however, moneylover, i am not one to regulate anybody's morality so more power to ya sista for making that kind of money! in toronto that is plenty for expenses, its so much cheaper here than.... well... most American cities I've ever seen!

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Forgive my ignorance but are customers allowed to touch your pink parts? Do customers get happy endings?
-
Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Yes happy ending, no touching, no bjs.

Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Hell yeah it's good...I don't make that in 11 hours a lot of times, and I'm attractive and a fairly good hustler. This state just sucks ass for strippers. :(
-
Re: Is making $300 to $400 for 6 hours good?
Lol... To tell you the trust making 3-4 bills playing with some guy naked is real terrible. I work at a Canadian strip club and come home with AT least 500 bucks and I only stay for 3 hours maximum (7days a week).... So honestly u need to move on up outta there and make some real money. I don't do extras I just do private Lap Dances at a Canadian club.. Sorry but u need to step up your game.... Don't let these men use u.. Espically since u there for 6 HOURS and only make 3-4 bills thats kinda embarrassing.. :)
