All I can say is this: Do what makes you comfortable, approach center of stage slowly and make lots of eye contact with the men/women at all times. Also don't spend too much time on one person while you are on stage, afterall it's only $1 unless they are handing out $10's and $20's which you will get ocassionally. I know you are going to be nervous, but after the very first stage it will come surprisingly easy to you. Best of luck to you, you will do great. ; - )
Allright, my word of advice...
You know how you dance in the club?
Slow it down 10x. Literally, 10x from that.
Do everything extra slow and it will look sensual and cool.
And always, point your feet on stage.
(like if you kick your foot up over your head on the floor or on the pole, point your feet. Looks better)
AND GOOD LUCK!!!
Walk out on stage... if your to nervous dont look at the custys just yet... pick a spot on the wall(I did this my first time out) just move slowly, rub your hands down your sides, lower yourself to the ground slowly, lay on your back rub your hands up your body... just think slow and sensual, when you get up dont just 'jump up' bring yourself to your knees then your feet under you, slowly rise up... walk around the pole... everything you do you want to think 'slow slow slow' even if you feel your moving in slow motion, slow that down. Dont be afraid to touch yourself. Also make sure you can walk in your shoes, you dont want wobbly ankles on stage. Watch other girls go up... if you can go in sometime this week and just hang out watching girls stage sets. Dont be afraid of the floor and dont use the pole unless you know you can do it. Maybe your manager will let you go in before open one day this week and practise, some clubs are great like that. My first day they had me come in an hour n a half before open and put some music on and had me practise... funny enough a bus boy taught me pole tricks lol. Practise at home in front of a mirror. You'll do great :D
Good Luck!! Let us know how it goes.
Oh great 'first time songs' that help you keep yourself slow and dont bore custys to much... Foo Fighters - The Best Of You, Thornley - So Far So Good, Velvet Revolver - Fall To Pieces, NIN - The Hand That Feeds...
These songs helped me through, they're not to fast yet not to slow. It really helps to have music that doesnt want to make you jump around.
Another thing think shoulders back keep your head up poke those titties out :D
I think that everyone gave some pretty good pointers! My best advice is to just relax! Let your mind turn off and just feel the music! I would definetly come in a little early and ask someone to show you how to crawl and maybe a few other things like a walking spin around the pole. Those are minor things that you will master with time. I didn't know them when i first started, but i'm doing great. There is no need to be nervous! I went in for my audition and they hired me before they saw me dance lol! Take your time, imagine you're in a movie like striptease lol. Good luck and Don't worry to much! You'll do fine! It's lots of fun! Just have a good time on stage!
Ah! Remember to SMILE! ;D That's the best advice I can give you!
O Babe!! I remember only too well how you're feeling!!
I'd never danced before in my life when I went to audition for my first club when I was travelling round Oz. I basically lied to the manager as I was convinced that He wouldn't give me a chance if he thought I'd never done it.
As it turned out it must have been BLATENTLY obvious that I didn't have a clue as I danced my first dance like I was on the floor of a night club!!!
The best thing to do is to get a couple of the girls to dance for you first. What you have to remember is that everyone has they're own style - I still watch and learn now, you can pick up alsorts of ideas from watching other girls. If you wanna slow dance then remember to take your time over every move. Really drag it out and exaggerate everything/. I find that making lots of eye contact works with most customers - it makes them feel special. Remember, most men wont even notice if your dance isn't that good to begin with!! As long as you make them feel special and look like you're confident they'll be smitten!!
Good luck - let me know how you get on xxooxx :)
I was too nervous my first audition. For my second try, I repeated this mantra:
"relax, and seduce... relax and seduce...."
It helped.
