sob story money
we have this girl at our club, who makes most of her money playing the sob story game. i dont know weather to be jelous or give her a talking to, becuase it works really well for her. she tells people all sorts of sad things to get money out of them and makes herself cry.
its comedy.
has anyone else ever done this and did it ever come back to bite you in the ass?

Re: sob story money
There are a few girls in our club that have tried that and it works for a little while, but the guys would much rather see happy girls than girls they know are gonna whine about something else. The way i see it, if they wanted to listen to someone bitch, they would stay at home with their wife or gf. They come out to have fun, not to feel bad.

Re: sob story money
Why would you feel you need to "have a talk with her"? If thats her hustle and it's working for her $ wise, why would you care? Everybody has their own way to get $ out of guys. What some might not do for $ others will, different strokes for different folks.
Im not for this techniqe, but if she can pay her bills by doing so,more power to her.
I dont really see how it could come back at her and bite her in the ass.Only if a petty girl reveals to a custy that she does that same song and dance to everybody, and that he shouldnt fall for it. That case, girls can screw with her $ making ability. But I think it would be petty to interfere with the way she makes $,develop your own hustle and dont worry about how others hustle,or it might drive you crazy. Plus custys have a mind of their own,if they fall for the hustle,it's their decision. (they can make up their own minds)

Re: sob story money
um, xcuse me sweetheart, im not trying to jock her "money making style". im one of the top girls in my club and she happens to be a good friend of mine.
i dont want some asshole find out that she is lying to him and try and hurt her in some way.
-
Re: sob story money
I wouldn't say anything. Guys already assume that half the stuff we say isn't true, so I doubt that many are falling for it. They are smarter than we give them credit for and it's almost cliche to hear about a stripper on hard luck and needs money.
If you really want to talk to her, which I don't think you need to do, then why don't you try the approach as if you're curious about it. See why she does it and ask her if she's worried about the possible repurcussions. But really we all bullshit our customers and tell them what we THINK they want to hear. her appraoch is a little weird and maybe good for some dressing room chuckles, but I don't think you need to be worried about her safety.

Re: sob story money
Honey bunch,I wasn't saying YOU personally trying to "jock" her money style. A generalality, some girls go out of their way to mess with somebodys syle. I took your question to be of a general Q,not of a she was your friend and shes doing this and im worryed for her safety thing of question.
I still cant see no harm in it(her safety) because only another dancer spilling the beans could ruin it for her. Even so, how could a custy actually tell if she was lying?(you cant) He could listen to another dancer spilling beans on her,but who's to say she isn't lying?(you cant) So she is in no harm, imo.

Re: sob story money
I am surprised she makes money doing this. If she wants to do it, whatever, but I NEVER ever give anyone the impression that my life isn't all sunshine and butterflies, even if it's not.
i know I've been to clubs as a customer, and it is SOOOO annoying when girls come up to you and bitch that they're having a bad night or that they have problems.
Like, if I wanted to listen to someone bitch, I could have done that for free....you know?

Re: sob story money
I've heard of this system being used before and it works in the short term but ultimately it's not that good of a system. Guys buy a dance or two out of such a dancer out of pity, not desire or the thought of having fun or a good time. Dancers like this make a sale here or there, but ultimately that type of behavior rarely leads to a VIP room or multiple dances. After all, guys are coming into the club to have a good time, not hear an earful of "woe is me, my life sucks" type of negative attitude. It can also come back to haunt you in other ways too. Imagine you play this on a guy who was in the club last week and heard all these stories a second time? The first time you've shown your hand, now he's on to you. How much you want to bet that he will say no to you the second time around in favor of someone who is more fun to be with?

Re: sob story money
I accidentally did this with my first ever regular because I REALLY hated the club and wasn't sticking around (ah, youth.) He humored me. BUT I never did it again. A wise ex-stripper from back in the day told me, "Men love to talk about themselves." SO.....find ways to draw talk out of him, or ask for the dance, or get up and leave. It's not hard to pick one...
Yeah, have some pride. Keep your dirty laundry at home.

Re: sob story money
We had a waitress at our club that did this... guys actually gave her like hundred dollar bills.. one guy said it was just to shut the bitch up because he was sick of hearing her whine. Needless to say we lost a few regulars from her and she got fired when management cought onto what she was doing.

Re: sob story money
Customers,a lot of times, come into the clubs to "get away" from their own BS.The last thing they wanna hear is someome else's.

Re: sob story money
There are certian customers who are looking for the "sob story" from the dancer. I call these regulars "rescuers". They feel good helping out that beautiful down and out lady. Their shelf life is about the same as any other regular. Ultimately this kind of customer is still looking for the dancer to "fall in love" with him, and leave her problems behind. When that doesn't happen he gets bored and looks for another dancer with a great sob story.
Of course, these are a speciality groups like the foot guys or the submissives. The sales techniques that work on this kind of customer won't work on every customer. However these "speciallity" types do spend more then the average customer just out to have fun. It is learning to read these guys that is the hard part. If you know a particular dancer uses the sob story, and one of her customers abandonded her, be sure to find out why the guy left. He might be a rescuer, and you can adjust your hustle to fulfil what he is looking for.
I once learned a phrase in a sales seminar "Dance acording to the music played". Meaning change your style to suit the customer, don't look for customers that suit your style.

Re: sob story money
It could also bite her in the ass if she messes up her story, like if she can't keep track of her own lies. Or if she tells the same person the same thing twice without realizing it "OH MY GOD my dog got hit by a car and needs an operation." then enter the same guy, a month later, she forgets and tries it again "OH MY GOD my dog got hit by a car..." chances are he will remember and she will be busted.

Re: sob story money
thats what i was worried about foxy. i just hope she watches her ass!

Re: sob story money
i think its so annoying when girls have sob stories, and especially fake ones.. i danced with a girl who had a new story everyday.... she started getting a rep bc the customers were catching on to it.... I would think most men would prefer to get dances from pleasant, upbeat, girls who simply don't bring up all their life problems.... sure, you may talk about your problems with some of your customers that you've known for a while and trust, but for gosh sakes' its really not necassary to mope around and create stories up.. I would feel too bad making up stuff.. i guess i just have a guilty conscious...

Re: sob story money
Guys think everything we say is BS anyway. Some guys get a thrill out of "saving a desperate girl". I'd say she's probably ok as long as she's not leading them on OTC. As long as it's kept ITC and she's not getting them to give her money elsewhere, they're probably not gonna feel overly cheated and want to get back at her. It always seems like they run into trouble when they take this game OTC.
