I went to a salon here in Wisconsin for a consultation, and they said it would cost me 1200 for half a head of extensions, where they would only put the extensions on the first few layers underneath my real hair to thicken it up and lengthen it.... so I don't know how much it would cost for a full head.... I didn't think it was worth it, so now I get extensions attatched with wax... they last about 3 months and I only pay 500 for a full head of extensions...
.I actually got certified by Great Lengths just because I am addicted to them and I was sick of paying 2,500 dollars every time I got a full head of extensions.I put them on my own hair and t takes me 3 times longer then It takes me to do other peoples hair. It's extremely hard to do your own.(especially hard to reach the back of your head). But, it's sooo... Worth it!!!!!.I went to get my hairdressers license just to take the Great lengths Coarse LOl! ;) I highly recommend this to all those who are seriously addicted to Hair Extensions,It saves me thousands of dollars! I know some of my clients have paid up to 4,000 for Great Lengths!( which is Insane! ) :O I charge 1000 for a full head .
What are the wax extensions called? Do you have to buy the hair and bring it to the hairdresser, or will they order it for you?
My hairdresser orders it for me... I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but the hairdresser orders the hair. The hair comes with hardened wax on one end, and the wax is melted and molded onto your hair near the roots, and then hardened. The hardened wax then sticks to your natural hair. When you have the extensions in, you can only use clear shampoo, such as volumizing shampoo, or anything by the Back to Basics line of haircare. Any shampoo that you can't see through is too moisturizing, and will make the extensions slip out. You also can't use hair conditioner on the bonds. They will last about 3 months, give or take a couple weeks. I pay about $160 for each bag of hair, and I use 1 1/2 bags of hair each time. The extra hair that isn't used I keep and bring it in next time I want them done, or I get them put in if any of my extensions fall out before I am ready to take them out. Then to take them out I just load up on conditioner in the shower, and they just slide right out.
Man,after seeing how much it costs to have long hair,I am glad I'm Asian and have the good hair gene.
