Re: Hustling with a deadline
I worked hard all summer to save up for the down payment on my house, I needed 22,500 and I ended up making around 18,000, just a little short. This was after all my bills and mortgage and travelling expenses. I traveled to the state I was moving to , we moved here b/c money was so much better, like 4times so.
Re: Hustling with a deadline
The best way to do this is a system referred to as "chunking it down". First, come to some sort of conclusion of just how much money you need in one big lump sum. Write that number down with a date you would like to have it by. So, say that you need $50,000 by December 31, 2006. Now, this might seem like a daunting task at first, but let's chunk it down into something more manageable.
Let's assume you're starting this endeavor on January 1, so this gives us 52 weeks/365 days to work with. Chunk this down now and you'll see that rolls out to:
$962.00 a week
$138.00 a day.
So don't be so concerned with the $50K, start focusing on how you need to consistently make $138.00 every day, and then when your deadline has arrived, you're $50K will be available to you (plus a little interest if you put it in the bank).
Re: Hustling with a deadline
I saved 40k in 5 months once. I would work every single day for a few weeks, then take 3-4 days off and totally pamper myself, then work every day for a few weeks. Location is key.
