cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Ladies, after a VERY long wait I'm seriously considering boobies, but only becuase I feel it's taken this long for them to figure out how to make them look and feel real - silicone cohesive gel (the gel, not liquid which can leak).
Anyone know of any doctors who specialize in the NATURAL look, not too big, and use the cohesive gel, preferably through the nipple. Since this is my first BA and only a limited amount of US doctors can do cohesive gel on first-timers, anyone know any good docs in Canada? Price is not a big deal - I'll pay for the best. I want the most natural looking possible, I've never had kids and don't have all that much room to give (want to go from B to C).
BTW, I live in LA. Almost all of the bob jobs here suck, including those from Dr. Fisher (he has been recomended here, I beg to differ). He goes very big, very fake looking, fine if that's your thing. He did not do his ex-wife's boobs (Brooke Burke), they were done before the now-defunct marriage. I have seen Dr. Corbin's work - good, but he doesn't do the cohesive gel. Generally speaking, if the doctors are in LA, they're here for the money and they're work reflects their greed.
Thanks for anyone's input. WEB LINKS APPRECIATED - CUTS DOWN ON RESEARCH TIME!!!

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
I'm able to find a lot just using Google and terms like "cohesive gel augmentation."
Canadian doctors won't operate on American patients for liability reasons, apparently. You need to find an American doctor participating in a study for a cohesive gel implant manufacturer (Silimed, Mentor, or Inamed):

Dr. Andre Camirand in Montreal, he's one of the best known in Montreal for natural looking boobs and he does cohesive gel. I think it's 8000$ CAD.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Does anyone have any more info on this Dr. Fisher mentioned above. I tried seaching for his name in othr threads, but didn't come up with anything. If he's actually into doing the fake look I would like to try him.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
My PS will do Co-gels on 1st timers, but only if you have an extreme amount of ptosis(the sag/droop thing).
From what you say, I doubt you would be a canadate.
They havn't been released yet for everyone's benifit, so you have to have had a BA before, or have the extreme sag to get them in the US.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Thank you all for the responses. I consulted with Teitelbaum and Stevens already last year. I am a first timer and you CAN qualify for cogels in the US, but only with doctors participating in the study, and no, no other kind of surgery or special needs has to apply.
For me, the problem with Teitelbaum is he insisted going in through the crease under the breast (which I think leaves a bigger scar), and I found his bedside manner to be arrogant. His work however, is excellent. Stevens was very nice, but his before and afters did not look natural. That's why I'm still looking. I'll check out the Canada link.
Thx!

from the website...
The implant is a silicone membrane filled with a physiological saline solution. At one time, it was filled with a silicone gel, but these implants are no longer available.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
He does cohesive gels but you have to ask him.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
You said dr. corbin doesn't do cohesives... Yes, he does. I had mine done by him a week ago and they look aweseome. I went to the beverly hills surgical institue the first time.... big mistake!!! Mine cost 8,000 and I have 600 cc cohesive gels. Everyone that sees them wants the gels now.

Can we see?

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
I think this was adressed to me ! I am canadian, so if they don't do it for americans I don't know, but it's weird ! I guess they don't want to be sued.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
I'm not canadian, but I was a candidate for gels because it was my second surgery. I think you have to have saline the first time unless you have severe asymmetry. I've seen Dr. Fisher's work on another dancer that looked completely natural. I didn't want the natural look though. The girl I saw that looked the most natural had the gels half under the muscle and half on top of the muscle.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Dr. Warren in Vancouver is (very) good at making them look natural...don't know if he does Americans.

I've never heard of this? /:O

Me neither how do they make that seems weird to me .

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
It's called a partial under the muscle.
They put part of the implant under and the other half partially over, to get a more rounded natural apperance.
-
Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Wow do you have any websites that shows what it looks like ?
-
Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
I want to eventually get co-gels.

This "partial retropectoral" implantation isn't anything new or out of the ordinary. When women here talk about "under the muscle" they're talking about this method of augmentation.

Thanx that clarified my question.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Had to revive this thread! So, I have gone to a Dr. Corbin consult. They do silicone gel for a first timer if they do a combined lift as well. So in order for them to do it on me, it would have had to have been in conjunction with a mini-lift however I am only 23 and have minimal sag. I guess that is how they get around doing saline. The cost would have been 8500 dollars.
Now here in France, the clinic I have found does all silicone gel, I had my first consult about 3 weeks ago and went and got blood work done today and will either be getting my BA next Tuesday or towards the end of May. It really sucks because Im still deciding/conflicted on size: When I had the initial consultation they asked about how big I wanted to go. I told them I was a dancer/model but also a student so I wanted a full D, (possible DD) but did not want to look overdone (I am 5'5" 115-120 lbs thin, athletic build from running track in college). I imagined somewhere in the 500 cc range (I am a full B/small C). The doctor strongly discouraged going that big saying it would be unnatural. I have seen 450cc's done on a girl with a similar body frame and thought they looked great on her (she went through the belly button, though) but I am not sure how much skin she had in the breast area to start with.
So...I still think 450cc might be ok, but the doc said 350cc would take me to a D ( "if not a little more"). I live right around the corner from this clinic and it is in a great area and is known for quality work; I am happy with the results I have seen. Cost= a bit over 4000 Euros and includes a one night hospital stay, meds, scrubs, etc...So about 6k USD, (under the muscle, armpit crease). The consultant let me see and feel her work and it looked great...very perky but not artificially so and they felt very soft. Hers are 8 months post. Anyone can help out on size? Did anyone here go from a B/small C to a D or above with only 350 ccs? I want a look that is sexy but at the same time not something that is extremely distracting as I do not know how long I want to dance/model and would like to look 'hot' even if not in the industry, but not necessarily bada-boom...u know, as I am still considering a more conservative job down the line!

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Hi
I don't know if you'll see this or not 'cause it's been awhile since your post but I am 5'5 127lb and was a 36A got 315cc cohesive gels last may and I'm now a 34D.
In all of my pre ba research I hadn't heard of anyone else getting that much from such a conservative implant, but whaddya know. Here I am.

Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
your band size went down?
-
Re: cohesive gel (silicone) BA ?
Yeah
I don't know if it was because with larger boobs where the band sits is slightly lower than before or because I have what I think is a wide chest, so maybe 34B didn't fit right 'cause the cups were too close together? although a 34b and a 36a have virtually the same size cup so with the larger band sz I had slightly more room between 'em. Make sense?
