Door Girl
Well I am regularly a house dancer but I"m getting a BA and rhinoplasty tuesday so I will be out of work for a month. I've saved up about 4k for "just in case" money but I knew I'd be bored so I told the club I'd be their door girl for a month. Well I was wondering what they do and how much they make? I noticed they always have like mints so I'll bring them, but I figured this way I could keep tabs on my regulars and what not while I'm away and not die of boredom.

Re: Door Girl
They sit at the door, answer the phone, sell t-shirts, hats, etc., check ids, call cabs and chat with drunk custies. Our door girl has a very sexy voice over the phone. She usually wears a low cut top. She does have a bowl of mints in front of her, as well as a tip jar. I think she does pretty well. She just works the weekends. Btw, bring some magazines in case you get bored, she does.

Re: Door Girl
I doorgirled when I was overweight and made $8 an hr plus about 100 a night in tips, not bad for just answering phones.

Re: Door Girl
Good idea. Our doorgirl seems to do very very well. On top of duties others mentioned, our girl checks us in when we walk through the door with the time we entered (to determine stage fee) and asks us which set we'd like to be on. Then she phones that up to the DJ. Every club's different though.

Re: Door Girl
Hopefully you'll get lots of "sympathy money" from your regulars! The doorgirl at a club in FL who always did well had a jar that said "I LOVE TIPS!" on it. Good luck!

Re: Door Girl
I have worked as a door girl before and it is a real good way to get people to come back to see you. Even if you have danced before it's this big deal that the door girl is dancing. Men they always want to see the girl with her cloths on.

Re: Door Girl
Some places have them, and some places do not.
Have done work similar to this. Some years back, was
a coat check out girl for a while recovering from a bad auto accident.
Customers come, lead them to table, or bar, do some initial
cocktail service, or tell the waitress what to get, etc.
Where I worked, I was considered a staff employee, had
minimum wage, insurance, all that nice stuff. But no big money.
Nice comfortable job. Got tipped from dancers to point out
good prospects afterr chatting with them for a while, while
they were waiting for a table. But not a whole lot.
Heck, $3 tip, 4 tips only add $12 to nights earnings.
But $12 is still $12, give it to me, I will take it. Thanks.
