Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Here's the back-story. Tonight was amateur night and all of us girls are required to be there unless we call in dead. It's a rough night on us all moneywise because of the unbelievable amount of dancers. That, and the kind of crowd that shows up on ammy night usually just wants to see the show and not buy dances. It's SO DIFFICULT to sell a dance. i actually did ok tonight and was fine until AFTER THE SHIFT.
Ok... we have an ammy night every month, and along with the ammy night comes the monthly WITCH HUNT for "dirty" girls because everyone wants to blame their shitty night on someone else. We're not even talking extras girls. Just dirty girls. It gets nasty in the dressing room. Lord help you if some dancer thought she saw some thing you did on stage that she didnt like.
The girls that deem themselves clean begin playing charades. THey mimick what they think is "nasty" and go "who am i?!?!? who am I?!?!?" gah.... They're cruel. They cut down what others are wearing and blame it on the fact that the other dancers aren't dressing classy enough and so are undercutting the ones who wear gowns. (we have no dress code. IMO, the ones who wore gowns tonight weren't conscious of the crowd. I wore booty shorts because of the kind of crowd that ammy night draws. They aren't going to get the whole gown thing.) They even went so far as to criticize the tall dancers for wearing platforms on stage because our pussies show easier that way. Um... excuse me... we're fully freakin nude up there, and in stripper shoes, its kind of all out there to see because of the way your pelvis is tilted. GAH.... It gets rotten in that dressing room and no one is immune. THey made fun of me RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME for bending over on stage. Apparently bending over fully nude is "nasty". It's really sad that people use their personal opinions to begin a cruel witch-hunt that isnt even ABOUT extras. Those are just out of the question at my club, and the girls are spoiled rotten.
The witch-hunt makes me sad. I can't stand it. I make it a point to NEVER say anything negative about anyone--to their face or behind their back. What's the point? I"m not at work to make enemies. i'm there to make money.
What is the DEAL? Does this happen at your club on rough nights? I guess it's just part of the biz. But it's f-ed up that it isn't even about extras and more about warped definitions of "classy" and "nasty". So disappointed about the atmosphere tonight. SO tired of the witch hunts.

I'm sure this happens in a lot of clubs. When a dancer doesn't do well she wants to blame it on someone else, and not think that possibly it was because of herself. Some girls don't want to accept the fact that they just had a bad night- they have to blame others for doing "bad" things. As long as you aren't breaking any rules, don't worry about it. Is there a rule that you can't bend over on stage fully nude? If not- go ahead and do it if that's what you want to do. If a tall girl wants to wear tall shoes, more power to her. Just keep it legal, and the other girls have to right to be bitching about it.

Whenever money is bad, cattiness escalates. In my club, it is thefts and cat fights. Charades sounds like a cakewalk compared to that!
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Ew, that sounds awful. Ignore them and give them haughty-yet-amused looks.
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Is there a housemom? Mine hushes all gossip before someone gets smacked for saying something she's not supposed to.
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
When they make fun of you or call you nasty:
"Aw, did you have a bad night, sweetie? Maybe you'll do better tomorrow night if you focus on your own business instead of everyone else's." Say it with a big, indulgent smile.
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
That sucks! Just remember when girls get catty like that its really more about themselves than the other people they're saying shit to. Its sounds like they were REALLY stretching for things to complain about: you're tall and wearing platforms--oh no!

OMG, this is a perfect response. Classy, yet gets the point across.

One piece of advice, stay out of the dressing room. I call it the drama room. I use it to change dresses and reapply make-up during the night. Otherwise, I stay to myself and try not to say anything about anyone to anybody. The manager/housemom should also be controlling this. I swear some nights when it's bad and all of us or drunk I think the housemom wants to shoot herself.
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Sounds like a small club. I hate small clubs. They're almost always full of this kind of crap.
I just ignore it. It always seems the girls who are bitching about others are simply the ones not making money. Always seems their definition of a nasty girl is anyone who makes money, and a "classy" girl is anyone who doesn't ::)
And may I say again, that I fucken HATE the word classy. People who use it don't know wtf it means. "Class" refers to social/financial status - so to use it to describe behaviour or appearance is annoying at best.

^^^
Hee.
I actually remember saying to a girl "You know, classy doesn't mean what you think it means. Even colloquially, it means "skeezy, but with pretensions.""
Seriously - what "classy" girl describes herself as "classy"? (any of you who do it - well, I would just recommend you stop. You didn't know - no harm done)
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Why don't you and the other girls who get attacked form a posse and show those bitches who's boss!
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
"classy" is one of the dirtiest words in america. the "class" they're referring to is the upper one- the rich bitches, born with silver spoons in their mouths, who've never worked a day in their lives, and who all happen to be white, protestant, and under 110 lbs. since when is that an ideal? all of us work hard for the money, honey! especially the dancers! since when does being beautiful gauruntee y'all a free ride? we should be proud not to be "classy"! all it means is that we've lived life, worked hard, and built our own dreams!
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Yeah, Paris Hilton is reeeealy Classy;D . That's something for us all to live down to.::)
Re: Witch-hunts!! <---semi rant
Wait, you get critisized by the other dancers?
Hmm.
It is a strip club, so I don't see how wearing booty shorts is odd in any way, shape or form. I would let it not get to you. I'm sure you're not really there to make friends with everyone. Just be friendly, but focus on the money. Which it sounds like you're doing the right thing anyways.
