The newest newbie
I'm new to the forum so first of all I'd like to say hi to everyone..
I have read the faq but its possible I missed my answer so I hope you can forgive me a previously asked question.
I've heard most on the board make their money through dances. My allure to stripping is the stage and the pole. Maybe I'm just being romantic but am I to believe there is next to no cash without giving dances? what do you make minus giving dances?
second, and forgive me if this is stupid. Whats the difference between dancers, showgirls and features? is it status? how do you become a feature? showgirl?
thankyou
love xxoo

Re: The newest newbie
These days, most places, stage is not very good $$; the money to be made is in dances. A creative stage is a plus, and can sometimes make you good money, but again, usually most the money is off stage - think of stage shows as sort of a preview. A good stage show, even when not amounting to lot of tips during, can gain you a lot in dance $'s once you are off the stage. It is also a good time to set up dances for once you are on the floor.
Profit versus dances is largely determined by how the club charges, which differs wildly from club to club.

Millions of Peaches is right, most of your money is made in dances depending on the club. In my town all but one bar has LD's. The one hold out is strictly stage dancing. They do offer dances but they are no contact chair dances. They have never changed their format and the girls sill make money. I guess you would call this a go-go bar? You may want to see if there is one like that in your area, they are rare though.
Dancer- any regular entertainer, may work at one club or travel.
Feature- booked into clubs, usually by an agency. most have either a title (IE:Miss Nude World) or have done porn either print or video.
Showgirl- if I have this wrong someone please let me know, like a Vegas showgirl, not paid in tips.

Re: The newest newbie
On a good night, 5-20 bucks per hour for stage, depending on how many times your on stage(figure 3 bucks per stage, more if your real good or super hot)
That seems like good money, but when you counter in all the cosmetics, shoes, clothing, tanning, manicure, pedicure, it really isn't eanouph to do just stage.
Mabe you could waitress and do 5 shows per night? You could make more money doing that, especially if you just waitress the first two weeks, get a good rapport w/the regulars, and they'll be begging you to dance. You of course will get them to pay you good money to get on stage, but no lapdances for personal reasons.
I could see that way working good and to your benefit.
Good luck :)

Re: The newest newbie
Hey girl, welcome :) Not sure where you're located, but it really depends on the club, IMO. I personally am in the most closed minded state in the US, Utah, and the only thing that is ALLOWED is stage dancing. So, obviously if you ask me, anyone here would make their money from stage dancing. But I assume in most other areas that the girls are right, I mean what guy wouldn't pay more to have a girl grinding on his lap than to see her on stage? :D

Re: The newest newbie
You can still make good money by stage alone. I usually cash out a couple hundred bucks in ones. It's good money compared to an average job. But to make really good money you've got to do laps. And you may find that you really enjoy them. I guess I shouldn't say enjoy, but the truth is - selling them is the hard part, actually doing them is a breeze and to make 20 dollars for 3.5-4 minutes is very nice. I just didn't have a clue about them when I started, so I just thought I wouldn't like them. But I do, they're intimate and easy and a lot less strenuous then stage - after you've been on your heels for five hours.
Susie had a great idea though, if you're into waitressing. Actually if you made it known that you just did not do private dances, only stage, guys would probably go nuts and start offfering you all kinds of money to do one. They'd want what they couldn't have. Oooh, I want to try that sometime...!

Re: The newest newbie
Thanks for your replies!
Its just a little confusing with the money. You have to pay the clubs to dance on their stage for 1 dollar tips? Like they don't pay you anything? So then why do you have to dance on stage at all (besides publicity).
I'm sorry to be so painfully new. I thank you for setting me straight though.

Re: The newest newbie
In my club we are independent contractors. The money we pay the club (house fee) is basically rent. We are paying for the space to work in. Although we are not employees we do sign a contract stating we will abide by the club rules etc. part of this is doing stages. There isn't much money on stage but it does help you sell lap dances.
Do you have any dance training (jazz,hip-hop)? If so maybe you could look into go-go. I know in Vegas the hotels pay dancers (the trained kind) to perform on stages, cages. The pay is decent and there's no interaction with the guests and no taking your clothes off.
As for showgirls, you must have a strong dance backround, lots of ballet and be very tall and thin. These are the girls that are in the big Vegas shows.

Re: The newest newbie
At my club we make most of our money off of the stage and our tip walk. I'd say about 75% or more of my money each night comes from the stage. We do private lap dances, which we get to keep $10 for, but the club I work in is very low hustle. It's mostly a stage show club, but lap dances are sold also. I usually do about 5 lap dances a night, which is average for the girls at this club, however there are nights where I do a lot more, and nights where I do none.
