Here's their discussion forum. THANKS GOOGLE!!! I don't look at child porn and I'd want to help the government stop that industry, but I'm glad that Google is keeping the records private. I only hope they continue to hold out.
^ No worries. They're sitting on about $6 billion in cash. They can afford the lawyers...
Yes, I am very glad that they are holding out on the feds! Way to go Google!!!
This isn't about child porn. That is already illegal.
This is about what is "harmful to minors." This web site might even fall under that definition as far as they are concerned.
Also note the post I wrote in Other Work where the senate is planning additional regulation for adult oriented sites. There may come a time when Pryce must either check our adulthoods OR insist all nudie pics be removed from the site.
This does not bode well.
I would say Google is more American than the government right now.
we just have to hold out for two more years and hope that an even bigger schmuck doesn't get voted into office. <holding my breath>
^ I'm not too worried; every Internet regulation legislation regarding adult material has been struck down right down the line up to the SCOTUS, usually unanimously to boot.
Thankyou for pointing that out , Deogol.Quote:

If Google is not successful in their fight , we may lose the right to use a website such as this one to exchange ideas or even just to communicate with people who share in our experiences or interests.
I for one sure hope that Casual's prediction comes true.
I cannot be complaisant when it comes to the attempts of those who would shut down adult-oriented business. There are a lot of them, they have a lot of money and influence, and they seem to hate our business with an intensity that is truly frightening. This seems to go hand in hand with the legal attitude towards homosexuality.
For a spine-chilling rush, read Scalia's dissenting opinion on the Supreme Court Lawrence vs. Texas case, which states:
"Of course the same could be said of any law. A law against public nudity targets "the conduct that is closely correlated with being a nudist," and hence "is targeted at more than conduct"; it is "directed toward nudists as a class." But be that as it may. Even if the Texas law does deny equal protection to "homosexuals as a class," that denial still does not need to be justified by anything more than a rational basis, which our cases show is satisfied by the enforcement of traditional notions of sexual morality." [Scalia, dissenting, 02-1002, June 2003]
Scalia was so passionate in his belief that he insisted on reading this aloud in court.
The Texas Court of Appeals had upheld theconviction of the defendants, stating that "the Texas law "advances a legitimate state interest, namely, preserving public morals."
This concern for 'traditional notions of sexual morality", and "public morals" is what frightens me, and ought to frighten anyone who is employed in or a patron of adult entertainment.
I use google to search for porn :/
I don't think that this has to do with adult websites and the availability to children. I think this has more to do with data mining, and the government thinks it would be easier to force the hand of those who already have the info, traffic and technology to give up what they know, than it would be to start their own search engine with the same function.
It is just easier to get the general public to jump on the "Protect Children" bandwagon from the evil sex industry, then it would be to tell the public what they are really doing. If they really wanted to protect children from sexual images, the government would be putting the smack down on any outlet that offered sexually explicit materials in a family friendly atmosphere- Like Barnes and Noble or any smaller newsstand, or the entire city of Las Vegas for that matter!!
Damn, now I need to find the newspaper article I saw on how certain elements in the FBI were going to try to crack down on porn.
It was an interesting read, so i will try to get a copy.
I don't want to get a Political Poo type thing going here--for one thing, that would suck, and for another, I have more important things to do, lol...
But just knowing there are people out there, who have power and influence, and who are so vehemently opposed to sexual freedom is really disturbing. Especially when some of them are fucking Supreme Court members.
Oh, and Paris--good point...you are right on it again, lol.
^ This is an article referring to the FBI's attitude toward the situation, from last year.
As I've said before, lots of political smoke, but no enforcement heat.
Thanks for the link, CO--and the article I saw was along the same lines. But while it may seem like not much to worry about--and I hope you are right, things like the "Bush administration's War on Porn" mentioned in the article makes it very difficult for me to relax completely and dismiss such issues.
There are still people in power--with a broad support base--who are out to convince everyone that you, me, and all our friends here are depraved and must be stopped. They may not be able to prosecute us, but they'd like to. Hell, I ran risk of getting arrested a few years back for merely trying to tell a woman the cops were in the house and she needed to completely cover her ass--every night I worked! A good friend of mine was arrested for doing exactly that...
I was arrested in Key West during FantasyFest, for wearing a fucking costume--by a Jesus freak Supercop--who also arrested a guy for carrying a plastic sex toy. All charges were dropped, but the costume was confiscated, my bail never returned, and the vacation ruined. Never mind that my roomate, a dancer, was running around wearing nothing but plastic beads the next night.
Imagine a "Bush administration's War on Architectural Illustration", if you will. If I saw an article about that, I'd be equally pissed off, lol! It's my business, and it could hurt me to have Supreme Court Justices trying to convince everyone that drawing houses was immoral, dangerous, and should be prosecuteable. Lawrence was, after all, arrested for trying to fuck his lover in his own house, and might take little consolation in the fact that his troubles were finally resolved suitably.
But let's not get worked up about this (though neither of us seems to be, fortunately). I have said more than once that you remind me of several good friends I have had--with whom I disagreed far more violently concerning political matters--and that if we were to sit down and have a drink somewhere, I'd probably like you.

It is a great costume--I recently made another version, and won yet another contest with it this Halloween. Thus far I have netted over 2,000$ cash, not to mention other bullshit prizes, with this costume.
It sounds truly disgusting, but I wear tuxedo tails with it, and being an artist, have spent a bit of effort to make the total visual impact cartoonish rather than gross. Judging from the reaction I have gotten everywhere I have worn it, it is an extremely successful costume. Think depraved Walt Disney, and you'll get an idea of the impact.
In one club I was immediately tackled and thrown to the floor by 3 women, the moment I walked in the door. This was a complimentary form of violence, however, lol...
My skeptical elitist wealthy friend from Chicago refused to be seen with me in it, and he and his friend reluctantly trailed behind me when we left the hotel by about 30 feet.
This lasted all of 45 seconds, and within five more minutes, they were imploring me to require that the women who wanted pictures taken with me should show their breasts, first.
The perverts, lol...
LOL! Guys are like that aren't they. Big followers of the crowd until they see the benefits.Quote:

Yes I do, and I promise to post them.
I have been putting off getting a scanner for far too long now, and I need it for my 'real' job, as well as fun stuff like this.
