Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Hello everyone!
i have been curious about stripping for a while, but now I think i am ready....It, just hard to take the plunge...I still have a zillion questions: Are the clients pigs? Is money that good? Why do you guys dance? How do you preserve your soul?Is there life after dancing?Do people in clubs make you feel cheap?
I am working at home from my computer as journalist/p.r consultant and I am bored!
I like being sexy and dancing, I am no prude but the client's attitude worries me the most. I have no pictures of me but I am 5'4 with curveous/firm size 6 body, wavy/long chestnut hair, creamy skin and green eyes. I also have some stage experience from dance and voice lessons .
How to proceed for interview? You think I should go this week?
HELP

Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Montreal is considered the extras capitol of the world. We have had many many many dancers come to our club from montreal just to get away. If you can I would look into dancing outside of the city... even cross the boarder to Ontario to areas like Kingston... Or even do weekends in Toronto. You can get cheap acomidations close to different clubs.
I am just going by what I have been told by many different dancers. I am sure there are some low mileage clubs in montreal, who knows. From what I have been told its very competitive there and takes a thick skin.
Dancing is fun, its a learning experiance and hell the money is great! Have a look around the forum, read some older threads and get an idea of what your getting into. Im sure you'll do great. Have fun! And welcome to SW!!
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
The clubs on the island and in the actual city of Montreal are definitely NOT extras clubs!!! Whoever is claiming them as such isn't representing them acurately. Even the dives on the island enforce a strict no-extra policy as they will get busted. That being said, like in any other city and club there are the occasional dancers that offer extras.
The clubs off island are a completely different story. Some are even full service clubs where management and everyone else is aware of what goes on.
In Montreal, there are 3 no-contact clubs: Chez Pare, Wanda's and Super Sexe. All have good reputations and dancers I presume make good money there. (Babyturquoise: by your description, I think you should try out these places if they interest you)
Other clubs in town are contact but not outrageous, in fact most clubs don't allow grinding. One can work without pressure for extras easily. I recommend these clubs: Downtown, Gentlemen's, Kama Sutra, Solid Gold.
I find it hilarious that you heard Montreal is the extra's capital of SC in Canada. I've heard many clients claim that dances have much more mileage in Toronto and surroundings cities! LOL
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Pixie - Im going by what a couple of features told me that come from there and some other dancers that came here from Montreal .. maybe they were talking about outside the city? Sorry if my post was wrong.... but as I said in my post im just repeating what I was told. But hey as you said there are high mileage clubs anywhere. I was just told that its hard to find a club in Montreal that is low mileage is almost impossible. But yea I know clubs here that the girls wont even do lap dances because 'they are not worth their time'. Anyway as I said im just repeating what i was told... sorry if im wrong. I do not know montreal well at all.
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Cally - No worries :) I knew you mentionned that you got that information from others so I didn't think you were trying to down Montreal SCs. The time of year can make things different too. In the summer, when we're flooded with tourists that know Montreal as a liberal hotspot, I can see things may be a bit rougher than usual. But still, managements are pretty strict about anything illegal.
The club I work at is known to be one of the most liberal on the island if not the most, and still no sexual extras have ever been tolerated. It's more liberal in the sense that they allow grinding and a BIT of touching over the dancer's thong (if she so wishes) and even that is watched closely by security. Any thing past that and the dancer caught is fired. I know there are a few dancers that do a bit more in the club but it doesn't affect my earnings in the least and they are usually found out and fired in a matter of day or a week or two.
The off island full service clubs are pretty crazy from what I hear. A dancer ending up there unknowing of the circumstances would definitely want to run away! These clubs offers extras as a norm and dances are almost never sold. Other contact clubs off island aren't watched as closely by the police so I can imagine extras being fairly common.
Out of curiosity, are the rumours I hear about TO and it's surroundings true? Many clients have told me they prefer getting dances there regardless of the higher prices because of the higher mileage. Considering the high mileage my club offers, these comments have me wondering!!! lol
And if I may ask one last question (sorry for hijacking this thread!), how much would you say is a good average shift's pay in Ontario after tip outs other relative expenses? I've been interested in travelling for work and more $$ but so far I'm doing better than expected here in Montreal with 10$ dances.
Thanks,
Pixie
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
I'am so happy to hear about you girls!
Thanks for the advices, I am going to try Parée, Wanda's and super Sex, i have been to solid gold with friends and it was nice, the manager actually asked my friends where i was dancing. So I probably do not look to bad. How do you girls do to maintain a healthy lifestyle? do some clients treat you like prostitutes?, why did you start dancing? i much money should I expect?
:O Jumping in is so hard!!!!!! A coaching buddy system should exists!
Anyway, I also hear it was hard getting in Parée and Wanda's because they hire models or beyond perfect girls....
Pixie, you are right about the Montreal suburbs, I have looked in to it and some clubs offer deals for nearby hotels....It's sad, when you think that in the 40ies and 50ies, stripping was a "classy" show and strippers were treated like godesses.
xxx :-*
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Many Montreal girls come to Ottawa/Gatineau area as well. The dances here are $20 (versus $10 in Montreal), but contact here is the norm (not between the legs, but breast touching). The contact here is the same as Toronto, and the money seems fairly decent to me (I was feeling good about my $80-130/hour average until a veteran dancer was telling me what she usually averages...my hustle needs some improvement. I've seen girls wantonly flip through their cash in the changeroom. The earning potential is high, and the extras are not more than anywhere else as far as I can tell).
And you're right about the look of the dancers in downtown Montreal. Many of them do look like they're straight off the pages of Maxim. You could try coming to this area for weekends. Many Montreal girls do, and the clubs here (especially Gatineau) will accomodate you. But don't act like a total newbie. It's not uncommon for girls to say they've been dancing for six months already to get hired...just be sure you have some idea of what to do (read all the newbie advice here- that's what I did, and I didn't look ridiculously new, except maybe on stage).

I'm not sure what you mean by this question, but if you have to ask it, maybe you should think very hard about whether dancing is really what you want to do.
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Pixie - It honestly depends where you go. My club doesnt even tollerate grinding and the little hand slide here and there over the girls breasts. If the manager walks into the VIP room and even sees you might be a little to close to the guys crotch he gives you a warning. The money in my club is pretty good.. its $20 a song I average anywhere from $200 - $900 a shift(my $900 days are when I do a 12 hour shift). The only fee is the $25 floor fee, tip out to the DJ is optional(I always do it). My club gets crazy busy though as well and usually has 30ish dancers on the floor at night.
Now the other club I was at, grinding was allowed, boob touching is allowed and you can make $1500 a shift on a good night. Its a "VIP" club that caters to high rollers and the mgmt expects you to do the little bit of extra(ie boob grabbing). The only tip out is the $20 floor fee and $5 DJ fee. You make your floor fee back if you do more then 1 stage show as well. Averages about 20ish dancers a shift.
You will find some high mileage clubs around here... most are no more then your club. But you will find the odd 'full service club'. If your interested in the names of the clubs to hit and avoid in Toronto send me an email(my pm's do not work).
baby - good luck with the dancing, i'm sure you will do fine :D And pixie seems to know the clubs to hit and avoid so im sure she'll be more then willing to help you out :)
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
Yekhefah ::) How do you preserve your soul was just a question...I am a journalist, I ask them a lot or listen and read between the lines!
Anyway I have a thick skin so I am not worried about me but want to hear about YOUR experiences with nasty staff or clients that make you feel like you are a sl**!
We learn so much by reading about each other's experiences!

Would that club's name happen to start with a C and be located near the corner of St Laurent?
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
as far as i have heard the club that starts with C on the corner of St.Laurent is completely straight. the only thing i have noticed that they do is sell lots of bad stuff to bad people.

Huh? I am not quite sure what you mean by that.
Re: Help! I'm New(anyone From Montreal?)
I'm not sure about the SC in that spacific area, but I do know there are alot of dealers in that area. It's a part of town I'm not too fond of (long story)
