getting my stuff together
ive started looking at alot of the websites that you guys have posted on shoes and clothing, etc. so, i think ive finally decided on getting a few things together first. so, generally, how many outfits do you think i should put together before i seriously consider going to audition? plus...any make-up tips? is less more or is more....well more? LOL!
ive ultimately decided to keep a day job for as long as it takes to get up and running. still trying to compile a list of prospective work places, etc. the SO and i are planning on going to at least one this weekend just to check it out. wish me luck.
sub-question:im not bi-sexual or anything, so how do you politely turn down a dance from a dancer without offending her.....direct her in my SO's direction?
Re: getting my stuff together
You say, "No thank you, but I'd love for you to get him warmed up for me." Then buy him a dance.
But if you want to be a dancer, you should buy at least one lapdance so you know what to do.

one outfit, one pair of shoes and your "going out/bar" makeup but darker...
Ive been dancing 5 years and only have a handful of outfits...
Most girls tend to wear the same outfit 90% of the time because its their fav or money maker or whatever...
Re: getting my stuff together
Ditto what Audrey says. Don't sink a lot of money into this when you're first starting out, especially if you don't know which club you will end up at and their rules re:outfits. I would suggest buying two pairs of shoes with slightly different heel heights and details (like straps at different places)--this way you will not be putting pressure on the same parts of your feet every day.
One or two quality outfits that you feel good in are worth 10+ outfits that don't work for you and that don't get worn.
As for makeup, there are some really good threads on the Body Business forum.

Yes, there are girls at my club with trunks of dancer clothes, and they never wear them. The point of being a dancer is to MAKE MONEY. Don't waste money buying dancer clothes that you won't even wear. Heck, I only have about a handful of dancer clothes. And tha'ts all I need. The point is save, save, save...
This isn't highschool. Most custys could care less what you have one. It'll only be on for a second anyway ;)
Re: getting my stuff together
cinammon...thats funny because i was shopping online for some shoes the other night and obssessing over it and my bf said the same thing.....lol.
p.s.youre beautiful! i am so jealous!
Re: getting my stuff together
^^^^ ditto, if I am reincarnated I want to come back looking like her!!!!
But about outfits, I actually buy quite a few just because I feel beautiful in new outfits, I think I might even glow.. I try not to buy too many, but hey new clothes get me excited, so dancer ones do too..
Re: getting my stuff together
gypsy.....i totally understand. i think im going to have a purchasing problem with the shoes. well, who am i kidding, i ALREADY own too many shoes...lol.
Re: getting my stuff together
Believe it or not, thrift stores are a great source for outfits. I have about 3 tops and skirts that I've bought at thrift stores and have cost me no more than $25. Of course you'll probably want to buy your own undies new, but for other items check out the thrift stores, especially around Halloween.
