my first really bad night
Thursdays are usually my wonderful night, where I see my regulars and listen to great music. I only dance 3 nights a week, and this is my only night at this club, because I can almost always make my rent in a night. Last night was my first really badly grossing night since August (I keep records). I made about $40 through the entire night, and didn't get any dances. Finally around 1 (we go until 2:30) one of my regulars came in, we played a round of pool and hung out, and I danced about two more sets.
On Thursdays, only 3 girls work. We always leave our money lying around.
At the end of my very last set, I brought in my piles of ones and looked through it. I realized that before he left the bar (during my last set) my regular had slipped in $45, 2 $20s wrapped in a $5 (which was wonderful, since he usually just gives me $1-3 per song, even if he's not at the rack). I was excited, but left the pile on the table and went out to pee, and then helped put a couple of chairs on the table before getting dressed. When I went back into the dressing room, my pile of money (probably about $65-70, and also a stack of $20) was gone. I was really upset and ended up having to use my debit card to pay for my taxi home (unheard of). This morning I only have $40.
I only worked with two other girls. One of them I've known pretty well for a couple of years and I trust her, and the other one I've known socially for a couple of years. I think that the second girl left right as I was dancing my last set. I didn't drink anything but water and red bull until about 12:45, when one guy bought me a rum & coke, and then my regular bought me a shot when we played pool. However, I puked a lot when I got home and felt a lot drunker than I normally do. I don't know if it's from the liquor (I can definitely hold more than 2 drinks), or from being so upset. I'm wondering if the first guy could have spiked my drink... he brought it to me at the rack and my other drink was at the bar (a shot of jager that I sipped slowly).
In addition, a dress of mine has gone missing...
I don't know what to be disillusioned by. :(
Re: my first really bad night
Chalk it up to a bad night and learn from your mistakes. Mistake one... trust no one. Never ever ever EVER leave your money laying around in the club. Doesnt matter if you know the girls, there are still guys there and management and waitresses etc...
Mistake two.. never take a drink you didnt watch the bar tender pour and make sure you take it into your hands. Dont let a customer bring it to you. Abd never let it out of your sight. If you leave it on a table and go to the potty dont drink it when you get back.
Good chance you had G put in your drink. It happend to me once. I learned from my lesson.
Sorry you had such a shit night. We all get them once n awhile. It bites but you just move on and hope the next one is better.
Re: my first really bad night
That is no ones fault but your own. You keep an eye on your money. Next time, don't be so careless.
Re: my first really bad night
Why do you keep leaving your things around!! Dont do it again!! People can not be trusted especially if they are broke!! (even friends) That was bad to leave your money laying around. It might had been a customer that took your money, or maybe it was one of the girls. Please dont lay money around!! Let this be a lesson!! Did you feel like you been feeling when you drink? or was it a different feeling?
Re: my first really bad night
Are there no cameras that might have caught the culprit?

.
What is G?
Re: my first really bad night
G also known as GBL or GHB its a date rape drug. It causes stomache upset, dizzyness, feeling weak. It has a lot of different side effects. Some people a little in their drink to make them drunk faster. Its not a pleasent feeling though.
a link about it.
Re: my first really bad night
^^^^^ Ugh, thank goodness we can't leave with customers at ANY of the clubs I work at..
And yep, trust no one.. I even tell new girls not to trust me just so they will listen.
That sucks!
I once left about 300 on stage ( on a chair) and went back for it and it was gone, I knew who was after me and asked her about it, she and her little friend split it between themselves, wtf?
I got most of it back, but steered clear of those two.
I say ask about your dress, by now money is a lost cause...
Re: my first really bad night
Thanks for the tips. I wish that they had been delivered to me in a more sympathetic way (since I'm still feeling kind of physically ill and have no one IRL to give me a hug), although they are things that should be reiterated.

Trust me, when I come off as bitchy, I say it with love ;)
You didn't need sympathy with your post babe..you needed a reality check. You are here to work, not make friends. Keep your eye on the prize!

Yeah, I would never leave with a customer and as inconvenient as it is I appreciate it when there are rules about it (as in, even if it's old friends from college, they won't let me
And it does suck -- I'm very careful about my money whenever there is someone working that I don't care about, but in the hustle of closing (and also, the possible drugging set in) I was paying a lot less attention.
Well, I did really well a few nights ago. I guess that my average earnings for the week just stayed average, so it's not too bad.

That does make me feel better, and reminds me to set a few more rules for myself, thanks ck. It's ironic, though... yesterday two different girls I know asked me about starting to dance and came to the club for the first hour and were just entranced; I passed on that reality check to them, too.
Re: my first really bad night
^^^ aw babe, shit happens, it just means something wonderful will happen soon!
I once had 300 stolen, my bag torn open, I had 1000 night the next night, grr grr!
We all would love to be sympathetic, but as senior dancer (six years) I know from experience, I even keep a safe in my home that is sealed to the floor. yep yep, us tricky strippers, can't trust a one of us..
Re: my first really bad night
Its a reality check. Yes you had a bad night but with some common sense it could have been avoided. Think about it, your working with other girls who are trying to get money. They see money laying around...they are going to take it. In this industry trust no one but yourself. Same with the drink thing.. your working in the sex industry.. these guys are horny mofos who wanna get laid and some will go to some very uncalled for ways to get it.
Im sorry if I come across as harsh... but the drink thing is very serious and could have been a lot worse.
I hope you feel better soon. I know how your feeling.... G mixed with alcohol is not a very nice feeling at all. You should be up and better by tonight.
Re: my first really bad night
I'll keep an eye out for that dress, though. Since I'm the only Asian girl at both clubs I work at, imma shoot DAGGERS out of my eyes the first time I see some girl sporting my black tube dress with the glitter dragon on it!!! :D
Re: my first really bad night
oh, you can replace that one!!! check ebay out cheap cheap.. Heck, I've had a few of those.. Go out and buy yourself something new and make a point of saying you did because your dress went missing. Then again, just ask them if they have it, it could have ended up in their bag by mistake, I walk out with girls stuff all the time! even their underwear, weird right? Now, I wonder where my pants ended up last night, I had to leave in one of my dancers skirts!
