Deciding about trying out upscale first
I definitely want to audition to become a dancer soon, and I hope to go straight to an upscale club. Exactly how strict is the criteria? Also, does the dancing go with the song tempo?
How high-level of a place do you guys think I'd be able to go to, and is it even advisable?
Me:
Age: 18, height: 5'9'', weight: 127 lbs, hair: long, thick, wavy, brown, eyes: pale green, chest: 34 B, waist: 25, hips: 36, I have been in dance classes and on dance teams so I have good control of my body, and I am well-spoken and friendly but not super crazy or outgoing.
If you guys need a pic, lemme know.

Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
Different clubs have different hiring standards. You should go to some clubs you would be interested in working at to see what the other girls look like, what they wear, etc. As for dancing, if it is a fast song, don't dance to the beat. You should dance slowly and sensually, not fast. You should definetely go check out some clubs to see how the girls dance and interact with customers and get a feel for the different atmospheres in different clubs to see where you would like to work.
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
I think it helped me to work at an average club first for a couple of months before I moved to a more upscale one with better looking dancers and richer clientelle in central London. Just for a little bit to get a feel for the job and learn how to hustle, if I'd started at an upscale club I don't think I would have lasted because I wouldn't know what to do and the girls in those clubs are more experienced..
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
Just to note: there is no upscale clubs here in SD. Then again it depends on what your meaning of upscale means. Expose is a good club. You have to tip out 15% of what you make and tip bouncers and the DJ.
So for every $100 you make you will be giving away $15 of that.
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
If you think your personality is only suited for upscale clubs -- ie, you can't deal with a mixed clientele, are a little snobby, and really want a nice physical environment, then go for it. If you think you can handle an MOR club, I really recommend starting out there so you can get some experience and then nail your audition for the good club. Or you could just start on days at the upscale club so you have a chance to scope it out and adjust when it isn't too crazy.
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
i dont think you can ever go wrong working in an upscale club.... why would u want to stoop down a level to a unprofessional establishment where you're not taken care of... i currently work at an extremely nice place and i would never ever want to go back to a dive to work.... its more secure and things seem to be more under control as far as safety goes... the clientale and dancer seem to be a bit more classy and business like... thats my take on the situation.... good luck in whatever you choose...
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
Hmmm... you all have good suggestions. Thanks! =) Also, I understand that there are no upscale clubs in SD, so what is a good example of one?
Re: Deciding about trying out upscale first
Pure platinum downtown, Expose, Dreamgirls (but it hasnt been busy there lately). Except Expose is nude.
