Newbie with questions/advice
hi there everyone! first off, awsome site, most of my questions have been answered but i still need some advice. i did stripping a long time ago when i was just 19, i did it in between jobs to pay for rent and such. i will admit i was very naive and had no clue what i was doing now i am older and more mature and wish to get back into it. i do have a day job which i will be keeping but i need extra cash so i can finish colledge and...well just pay for things to spoil myself with (i've never gotten my nails or hair done and little things like that).
I will be getting a car in a month or so which i will take that down time to loose some extra weight and then go audition. i was thinking of a theme to make myself stand out a bit more (i'm in bible belt country and i'm sure the girl next door look is over done here), since i have a medium sized tattoo on my left shoulder blade of a spider i was thinking of goth/bad girl style. dont get me wrong i don't mean chains and leather and i do my make up and nails neutral anyway. i was thinking classy, luxourious goth (i'm a gown girl myself) and lots of black lace. anyone think that sytle will fly? or have any suggestions? i'm still trying to pick a name ;D i was thinking Raven but that might be over doing it.
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
Raven would definitely be a good name if you plan on wearing black!
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
Go with whatever style you are most comfortable with. It took me a while to figure out what works best for me. I could never pull off the goth look, while other girls would never be able to pull off my look. Try a few different things to see what you are most comfortable with.
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
I'm in the bible belt myself and also a "pretty" goth girl.8 times out of 10 you will be truned down for a dance unless you get alot of out of towners where you live. It's sad but true. You can make it work for you because more than likely you will be the only one in the club with that look and you will spirit all the money away from the guys that are into that.Plus I have alot of regulars where most of the other girls only have one or two.As long as you can smile and laugh with all of the jokes and Vampire, witch, living dead girl,Elvira,Mortica,Lily Munster, dead chick, devil worshiping, freak comments you'll do well.
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
Also in the Bible Belt here too; I might understand where you are going with this because I also have a slight-goth look. I have long curly black hair with a very distinct facial structure so I can't go for that 'cute' girl next door look. However, I don't do the scary goth thing either. I only wear red and black and I almost always wear a pair of thigh high black boots. I mostly play heavy metal (that is recognizable to the customer) and some 'goth' music, but I make sure that since I am in the south everyone will recognize the music. Most of the 'country' guys down here love it because a lot of country guys are also semi-tough biker guys that are always working on the farm and on their trucks... etc... you know what I'm talking about I'm sure. What I make sure to do though is while on stage exude sex all the time... it just goes with the look... you have to be very confident to pull off the look. And one last thing... yes you will scare off some customers... I do every night... but on the other hand you will be pulling off a fantasy that a lot of girls cannot do. Just a quick question... where in the South are you?
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
It really all depends on what youre comfortable with. I mean, it sounds great (to some) to be the 'goth girl' of the club but you really have to have the personality to pull it off. Most 'goth girls' I see are pushy, outgoing, loud, etc... it works for them and works with their look. If youre softspoken and a wallflower you wouldnt do well as a 'goth girl' IMO...
I - on the otherhand - am loud, outgoing and pushy and could probably pull off the 'goth' look but its sooo not me.
Try it - see if you like it - see if the customers like it - untimately see if it 'works'... if so, great, if not, try something new! Its always fun to 'reinvent' yourself....
Re: Newbie with questions/advice
i'm in north carolina near charlotte. we've just moved here (hubby & me) from So.Fla, hurricane wilma did a number on us. we are currently lving with his parents and we are both going nuts, after we move out is when i will discuss being a stripper with him. i know he dosn't like the idea of other men looking at me, but i've always enjoyed being the center of attention. he knows he can trust me, i used to go to fetish parties alot with other people and never did anything that wouild jepordize our marriage; we'll just need to talk it out... i know there is another reason hes nervous i just need to reassure him.
and i know i can pull off the goth look easily, lol i am one normaly. but like i've said i'm more "elegant" i don't do the whole black lipstick/nail polish thing but i wear alot of blacks. i just wasnt sure how sucessful it would be in the club scene. thanks for all the tips though, i will keep them in mind :)
