So do you think this guy's insurance company is gonna pay off on this?
:loco:
I particularly liked this quote from the police seargeant.
"For a million dollars, you get a very good passenger-safety system, and apparently in this case it did work,"
Uhh, you think? :O

That's kinda on the awesome side that they were possibly going 200mph and he only cut his lip.

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
oh what a shame! It sounds like the guy was driving but knew he'd be in deep shit cuz he'd been drinking. What a tard. He's lucky he's okay. My dad's friend wrecked a Ferrari a long time ago and was thrown into the passenger seat and a pole came straight through the driver's seat and would have killed him had he had his seatbelt on. Maybe a certain amount of luck comes with owning a Ferrari. I hope one day I find out! I'd probably be too scared to even drive the thing the speed limit I'd be so nervous of wrecking the thing.

ferrari is a perfect machine. every crash is drivers error

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. I really wish they would not allow street racers like him to ever have a drivers license again. He could have killed someone else. It is a miracle he did not. I hate street racers. They have killed inocent people here in Dallas.

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
You Will Not Drag Race Ever Again- My mortician friend had to prep the body of a man who wrecked his Acura in a street race. The family wanted an open casket. The answer was, "Uhhhh.....We're going to need a few days..."

At least two enzos have bitten this bullet, at least two Carrera GTs, and I know of two Ford GTs that also got trashed. Better he crashed at high speed than getting smashed into by some dumbass in a SUV.
Also the chance of this guy street-racing is about 0. The CHP automatically says 'street-race' if it involves a sports car of any kind. The key highlight of that was when a ricer 'tried to race' an old ford minivan. Turns out the Minivan lost control at normal traffic speeds, no racing involved whatsoever, smashed into the Ricer and guided both cars into a minimart.

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
An Enzo doesn't just "lose control" at 120 MPH..... in this case the driver was drunk and driving like an idiot. What a shame to ruin such a beautiful car.
-
Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
Not quite true adrenaline. You can encounter bad road surfaces, you can have improperly inflated tires, you can have a host of problems that will cause the car to loose control regardless of the drivers input.
-
Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
its gonna take alot for an enzo to lose contorl at 120mph. i suppose you would have to understand alot about cars to realize the insanity of an enzo.
-
Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
Yes, I would have to understand a lot. Like maybe my countless track days and track hours. Not to include auto-x, drifting and that horror of horors, street driving.
All it takes to make an Enzo lose control at 120 is to have made the mistake of turning traction control off. If you didn’t make that mistake all it takes is bad conditions. The Enzo is a car made for the track and driven on the street. Given great conditions it will drive like a beauty. Because it is so hard-edged and is engineered for maximum performance under ideal conditions it will have a greater tendency to bite you in the ass in poor conditions than ‘normal’ cars.
I'm not saying the guy didn't crash because of bad inputs and being drunk. I'm just not buying into the stupid idea that it is always the drivers fault when it comes to this supercars. Encounter bad conditions and you're fucked. Enzo or Peugeot.

OMG,that just totally broke my heart!!!!!!

Re: "Uhh gee, I think I'll street race my $600K-$1M Ferrari"
The conditions for driving 120 on that particular road is totally non-existent I dont care how great a car it is .
