Re: AHHHHH! Featuring!!!!
Melonie--
When I did it the clubs paid the traveling expenses or part of them, but it won't surprise me if that's stopped. Do you know if that has changed across the board?
I don't know if Body Miracle and its ilk were around then--there wasn't an internet and nobody ever suggested it to me. I'm guessing those who were interested in extra work made their own deals and had their own networks.
Re: AHHHHH! Featuring!!!!
The "Stevie" on the Body Miracle site was a dancer at Expose in Austin in the mid 90s named Jackie. Pre boobs, natch. Hah.
Re: AHHHHH! Featuring!!!!
Yay! Got a call today from Ken from Lykens Entertainment (my first choice agency) and he accepted me, so I think I'm going to go with him rather than Continental Agency, because I'll get training by going with Ken, whereas Continental Agency doesn't give you any real training (they just send you to Texas to start you out, and you use the 96 shows in Texas as your "warm-up" and training time to get your acts figured out before you really start traveling). So I'll be going on the road with Jada DeVille for a few weeks this summer and she will train me on dancing and how to handle business in the "feature world" and then we'll see what happens after that. Yay! Jada is great. She's been a feature at my club and she puts on a great show, so I'll be learning from the best!
