Re: NYC newbie!!!!
Hey Georgia,
Aim high, try the more well known clubs first. You won't need to worry about taking off pants... all NYC clubs are gown clubs. In most cases you'll be up for two or three songs, let the club officials tell you at what point to start getting undressed if youre unsure. Call the club first, find out when is the best time to audition and then show up with your bag (no male friends needed). You should dance at your audition, or at least somewhat mimic what the other girls are doing. No need to reference Martha Graham but dont walk around a stage looking bored.
Also, starting out in NYC is tough, just keep that in mind.
Good luck.

Re: NYC newbie!!!!
-Personally, I'd go with start small and work up, just to adjust to the hustle.
-Like Sophia said, no need to worry about the pants in Manhattan (I work at clubs that allow pants ie., outer boroughs and mine get stuck all the time so I can't tell you what to do there)
-No friends.
-Dance, but not like you're at a night club. Don't try too hard to be sexy either. Again, like Sophia said, watch the other girls before you go up on stage to get an idea of what to do (but don't try to copy)
-Top off by the end of the first song

Re: NYC newbie!!!!
thanks ladies!!!! i am going tomorrow...but also i have another question.......
* is it better to buy the cheap stripper looking tight gowns or liek a nicer gown that looks sexy in an elegant way, not stripper way?!?!

Re: NYC newbie!!!!
Buy a gown you look good in. It's as simple as that. I have a numer of original gowns made by housemoms and by seamstresses. I also have some Leg Avenue gowns that cost me $25 and I bank like crazy in those too.
Wear a dress that you look nice in (make sure it's long) and then pay attention to what girls in the club are wearing. Greggy is right, don't copy but do make sure that you fit in... in a good way.
