Re: Traveling as dancers?
To put it blunt, it really depends on how good you look and whether the club needs girls, especially in NYC. Me and a good friend of mine from the Bahamas went up to PEC in NYC, they wouldn't hire us. They said they had enough girls for the summer. Then we went to Scores West and got hired. I have talked to a few girls who have lived and worked there. Cost of living is A LOT higher than Reno or here so if you walk with 500 bucks it's not shit whereas here it's pretty good. Do some research on your own first. Go back to NYC and explain that are looking to move there and would like to find a nice club to work at. If you get a job you will need to find a place to live. Try www.rent.com and search around. Hell, if I wanted to and had nothing keeping me here I would move myself. Go for it!
Re: Traveling as dancers?
I've always thought about upping and leaving, but I'm just too scared to do that when all I have to rely on is dancing. But it is possible. As for NY. Save up a lot of money first, and find yourself a roomate situation first (use craigslist.com for that), just to cut down on initial costs. Keep in mind that Scores, PEC and Hustler aren't the only clubs in Manhattan so finding a job won't be impossible.
Anyway, I've seen some clubs in different areas offer room and board to their dancers. I often see an ad for girls to come work at a club in MA for the summer. Maybe you should try something like that to start out. Or like, go to Puerto Rico and dance for a month, or Guam.
Re: Traveling as dancers?
Sounds good! I'd love to go anywhere really, but NY is my top pick :)
And Greenidlady, I don't really have anything keeping me in reno: no parents, no BF....
I suppose my REAL job and school, but those I can always go back to....
