Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
Well at least your mature enough to know when you're at fault. Hell, when I first started dancing, I found $320 just laying on the floor of my club. I even told the DJ (dumb move I know) and told him that if he saw anyone bitchy or crying about money to let me know, and I'll return it (cause hey, that's just the type of girl I am) But nope, no one fessed up.
On a side note, From what I've read on SW, alchohol at work is a big NO-NO! You shouldn't be drinking that much to where you get that trashed.
Hopefully you've learned from this.
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
This is why you never ever ever take your money out of your purse when your at work. Carry a little purse and keep your money in it, or if you wear boots, keep it in your boot, at the end of the night put it right in your purse. Dont count it at work, wait till you get home. If you do tip out at the end of the night put it aside as you make it, once you make enough for tip out put the money your keeping in another area. I wear boots, I keep tip out money in my left boot and my own money in my right boot. It works for me, if I carry a purse I lose it lol.
I know it sucks hon i've lost my money before too :( only once, thats when I decided not to drink anymore at work. I actually got lucky because a girl took it to mgmt and told them it was mine and they gave it to me next shift.
Sorry you lost your money :(
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
Yeah, I learned... I wasn't really trashed though... Just all those little bubbles in champagne make me "loopy" not drunk really just like a happy buzz... I just messed up....
I thought about asking if anyone found it, but I know that that would never happen... BooHoo.... Live and Learn...
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
Spread the word, you never know, someone just might come forward and return your money. When I was working at Hustler in SF, I found $50 laying on the floor of the dressing room and gave it to our houseparent (can't remember if it was dad or mom!) who found the rightful owner after listening to the ladies in the back. Less than a month later, I had some money ($250) fall out of my box. I told housemom about it and she came to me a short while later and told me that a certain girl had found it and turned it in!
Not everyone is dishonest--tell your manager and housemom or dad, let the hosts know and tell the DJ--someone is bound to know something. Good luck!
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
To be safe try to keep as little money on you as possible by putting and hiding money in your locker frequently during the night, atleast if someone steals lose you purse won't be your whole night's earnings.
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
Definitely spread the word. Someone may have picked it up and put it away...just to hold it for you. I know one girl I used to work with was so fucked up, that she carried all of her money in her hand when she left the VIP area...and when she clocked out, she put all of her money on top of the punch clock. At quick glance, I estimated about $1000-$1200 there. I didn't notice she had left it there until she walked away. So, I grabbed it, clocked out, and handed it back to her when we got to the dressing room. The sad part was that she didn't even know it was missing...she was leaving early and had already tipped everyone out and changed in her funny money...so she wouldn't have noticed until the next day or until at least when she was going home.
Drinking and money do not mix (which is why it's easier to get money out of drunk guys...LOL). I'm glad that you are taking responsibility for losing the money, but next time...don't drink. Or, don't take your money out of whatever money holder you use at work.
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
Yeah, spread the word!!! I always ask if anyone is missing money, but that's me..I usually figure out who it is anyway by where they're stuff is in the dressing room, it's happened many a time that I lock up their money in my trunk and give it back later when I find out who it is.
You never know, maybe honesty will prevail!!!
I personally carry around a purse, I had to change purses just this week because my old one was black and blended into the stage. I keep all my money in the purse and my phone too, yep I've called it a few times when I couldn't fine the purse. It was usually already in my trunk or backpack. Plus, people get so used to whatever purse you are carrying that they know whose it is should you acciedentally leave it on stage or elsewhere.
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
That really sucks! A lot of dancers I know who have been doing this for a good while has had a night when they lost their money or got their money stolen. At least you are more okay with it since you know it's your fault and it's a great lesson to you since you will probably never drink a lot at work again!
Things could have been worse than losing your money. I never drink at work but slowly I started having just one at the beginning of my shift, then I got a VIP who was charismatic and taught me how to take a shot... pretty soon I was having several drinks a night. Needless to say, due to my drinking I did something completely out of character that I absolutely regret with all my soul at work this past week. I don't even want to admit what it was, so hopefully my story makes you feel better. At least you can earn your money back, right?
Re: I Hate when I Fu*k Up!!
It's amazing how many dancers will still get sloshed even after reading this.
