need help w/ work history
I am trying to get a job outside of dancing and I don't know what to put down for past jobs. I am a senior in college and have been stripping for the past 2 and a half years. I don't want to lie, but if anyone knows good ways to make up fake jobs or make a strip clubs not look bad, let me know. I really need help with this!
Re: need help w/ work history
Don't put anything - a senior in college may not have worked a real job at all. Concentrate on the academics, extracurricular activities and any internships if you did them.
Re: need help w/ work history
I'm with Bridgette on this one... you have school as your reference, I wouldn't even bother putting down anything else. You won't be lying.. you'll be omitting :)
Re: need help w/ work history
Yeah, it is not a problem to have nothing at that stage. However, depending on what you are applying for (because there are some jobs for which you DO NOT want to fuck around with) you can just say "Bar Staff". The manager may be willing to say that you were a waitress, but honestly, they are flaky and can't be trusted. They will get drunk and forget. So don't count on it.
Re: need help w/ work history
One good way to fake job experience is to give them a good friends number and say youve been Housekeeping, Secretarying, housesitting ect. Ive used this one.
Re: need help w/ work history
Depending on what kind of job you're looking for, if you had to apply for a license or work card to dance, this may come up on a background check, so you don't want to leave your dancing job off of applications, because if a background check is done and it shows up that you've been working, you will probably get turned down for the job before even getting an interview.. I was told to put down "self employed" or "independent contractor" on any future job applications.
